Eagles Question of the Day:

If you’re Howie Roseman, what’s the most you would give up to acquire Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders? Head over to The Feed and weigh in with your answer and explanation!

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

Fire up the Maxx Crosby-to-the-Eagles speculation – On Pattison

It may be that this is the breaking point for Crosby, who has chosen to remain loyal to the Raiders for seven seasons. He’s got 10 sacks this year, marking the fourth double-digit sack season of his career. He’s headed to the Pro Bowl for the fifth season in a row. And yet, he’s played in just one playoff game, a 26-19 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card Round in January of 2022. The Raiders now seem to be at as low of a point as they’ve been during Crosby’s career, which is saying something. He’s going to be 29 years old before next season, and both he and the Raiders may just decide it’s best to find an amicable solution in the offseason that allows Crosby to go to a contender and the Raiders to accumulate a treasure trove of picks. Crosby isn’t Garrett or Micah Parsons — no one is. But Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reported prior to the trade deadline in October that “two high-ranking personnel sources tell me Roseman would give up a significant bounty if the Browns were to make Myles Garrett available.” If that’s the case, maybe the same will be true this offseason should the Raiders actually make Crosby available.

Maxx Crosby Loved his First Experience Playing in “Grimy-Ass” Philadelphia – Crossing Broad

“Cities that really have substance to them and true fan bases, and love for their city and the game.. And going to Philly you can feel that energy when you go there. There was people everywhere downtown. We stayed right downtown in the thick of it. You know how Philly is. They’re rowdy, they are crazy, flipping you off (in the buses)… they didn’t give a damn about anything. Then we pull up driving up to the stadium, I low key never do this, but I was driving into Philly, and this is first time I’ve ever played in Philly, so that’s why I took some pictures, but was driving in there, trees and just all white and fans everywhere in the tailgate. You can see the stadium behind it. I took a couple dope-ass pictures because this is like my first time ever playing there. If you love football, that’s what you dream of as a kid, playing in Philadelphia in December in a grimy-ass environment. That is exactly what you dream for. So I loved it.” Dude, hell yeah. That’s awesome. This is real talk from one of the NFL’s best players. His team got absolutely worked on Sunday afternoon, yet he comes out of that experience with nothing but good things to say about the fans and the environment.

Why Sitting Maxx Crosby Isn’t Tanking—and the Right Move for the Raiders – SI

Saying this, of course, doesn’t represent an approval of the Parsons trade (my opinion remains steadfast). But it does recognize that certain relationships will sour to the point where the time it takes to rectify them will eclipse the remainder of a player’s prime. Parsons is just 26 and absolutely worth fighting for. Crosby will turn 29 before the start of next season and his contract is very tradable. Executing a Crosby deal after the start of the league year, according to OverTheCap, results in just $5 million in dead cap for the Raiders in 2026 and saves the team more than $30 million. Crosby, unlike Garrett, doesn’t seem to be as easily persuaded by the corporate line. (Garrett famously said before this season that the Browns pitched him on a plan for the team’s future which he agreed with.) As the Raiders clearly try to tear this organization down to the studs and build it into something distinctly unlike the locker room that has born and bred Crosby, it’s obviously more valuable for Las Vegas to have a combination of high draft picks to spend on players who will fit the vision of Tom Brady and John Spytek.

Eagles Opponent Film Room: Scouting the Buffalo Bills’ offense – BGN

The Buffalo Bills’ offense has quietly evolved this season into something far more controlled, without losing its explosiveness. Josh Allen is still capable of superhero moments, but the foundation of the offense is now built on efficiency, spacing, and sequencing. One interesting note is that they rarely ask a receiver or a tight end to block, so they put a lot of faith in their offensive line and really stress defenses’ zone coverages. You’ll see far fewer forced throws and far more deliberate manipulation of defenders. If you look at Allen’s numbers, he has a lot fewer big-time throws, fewer turnover-worthy plays, and fewer tight-window throws than you would expect. This is not the same Josh Allen. Allen is taking underneath completions, using eye discipline and subtle shoulder fakes to freeze linebackers, and repeatedly funneling the ball to his tight ends, particularly Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, who function as the engine of the passing game.

Game Preview – PHI at BUF – Iggles Blitz

Buffalo tends to run hot and cold. That inconsistency has led to some big deficits. They are so good they were able to make impressive comeback wins over the Ravens (down 15 late) and Patriots (down 17 at the half). They are relentless, largely due to Allen. The Eagles offense is going to be critical in this game. If they go 3 & out too often, Buffalo will run away with the game. Luckily the Bills defense has some issues. They are 15th in points allowed and 11th in yards allowed. They are 29th in rushing yards allowed. This is a team you can run on. Teams average 5.4 ypc against the Bills. They have allowed 160 or more yards seven times this season. Not good. Luckily the Eagles rushing offense is heating up, averaging 174 yards per game over the past three weeks. This would be an ideal time to have another productive ground game. Tell Saquon and Tank to rest their legs on Saturday. Jalen Hurts running more has also been a help in recent weeks. He gives the offense another weapon.

Roob’s Observations: Why Nick Sirianni will probably never win Coach of the Year – NBCSP

Why is it so important for the Eagles to do anything possible to get the No. 2 seed and not rest players and accept the No. 3 seed? This franchise has only won five road playoff games since 1950 and only one in the last 16 years – the Double-Doink in Chicago in 2018. Think about that for a moment. They’re 5-14 in road postseason games since beating the Rams 14-0 at L.A. Coliseum in 1949. They’re 11-4 all-time in playoff games at the Linc, including five straight wins. Only the 49ers have a longer home playoff winning streak, with seven straight wins. Going back to 1991, the Eagles are 15-5 at home in the postseason and all-time they’re 20-9. As long as there’s any mathematical chance to get the conference semifinal game at the Linc you have to try. And it’s not all that far-fetched. Two Eagles wins and two Bears losses mean if the Eagles win wild-card weekend, they’ll be back at the Linc the following weekend. With the chance to host the NFC Championship Game if the No. 1 seed loses, which is exactly what happened last year.

NFL Week 17 picks: Upset and score predictions, matchup breakdowns for every game – NFL.com

Why Ali picked the Bills: Fresh off one of his best performances of the season, Saquon Barkley gets another favorable matchup this weekend in Buffalo’s 30th-ranked rush defense. As effective as the Bills have been running the ball this season, they’ve been equally and oppositely awful at stopping the run. Since Week 10, Buffalo ranks bottom three in the majority of advanced rushing defense metrics, including rush EPA per carry, explosive runs allowed and rush yards over expected. You know which defense consistently appears next to the Bills’ unit at the bottom of these Next Gen rankings? Yep, the Commanders D that Saquon just dusted for 132 yards. It’s also worth noting that we could see a particularly inspired Philadelphia side on Sunday, considering this might be the starters’ final tune-up before the tournament begins; the Eagles have already secured the NFC East crown and would need Chicago to lose out to even have a chance at the No. 2 seed. And even with all that said, I just can’t pick against Josh Allen at Highmark — even if he has a bum foot. The dude has won a league-best 12 consecutive regular-season home games in December/January — a streak that dates back to the 2021 campaign. It might not be pretty, but I’m counting on my MVP pick to find a way once again.

Eagles-Bills Super Bowl preview? Plus, Saquon Barkley calls Nick Sirianni NFL’s best coach – The Athletic

If you like cold-weather, smashmouth football, you’ll enjoy Sunday’s game. The Bills have the best rush offense in the NFL, and the combination of Allen and Cook will test an Eagles run defense that was vulnerable during a recent three-game losing streak (including Week 13 when they allowed the Bears to rush for 281 yards). It’s a tough weekend to lose Dean, who is a key part of the run defense. Carter’s return will be critical, and the Eagles must keep eyes on Allen extending plays. Mobile quarterbacks have hurt the Eagles this season. The flip side is that the Bills’ run defense is vulnerable, and Barkley has been heating up in recent weeks. Look for the Eagles to lean on Barkley and Tank Bigsby — and perhaps use Hurts’ legs — to take advantage of a defense that allows 144.3 rushing yards per game (No 30 in the NFL). That game plan will be even more pronounced considering rain and wind are in the forecast. The Bills are on a four-game winning streak with a 6-1 record at home and the highest Super Bowl odds among AFC teams. There’s a reason why they’re slightly favored over the Eagles. If the Eagles’ offense can remain efficient, there will be opportunities to move the ball against Buffalo. My guess is the Bills outlast the Eagles, and you’ll see the starters next at home in the playoffs. Bills 24, Eagles 23

Can Jalen Hurts or Josh Allen break the career rushing TD record? – ESPN

Hurts: Sustaining this level of production over the better part of the next decade seems like a stretch. Hurts already appears to be dialing things down. He’s on pace for career lows in rushing attempts and rushing yards since taking over as the full-time starter in 2021. He recently noted that “it’s becoming tougher and tougher” to execute the tush push play as defenses continue to come up with new ways to stop it. Some in the league are trying to have the play banned altogether. The “push” part of the play may be a bit overrated — the sneak could still largely be successful without the shove for a team with a massive offensive line and a QB like Hurts — but the degree of difficulty would go up further still.

PFF Bets of the Week: NFL Week 17 – PFF

WR DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles: Over 4.5 receptions (+148 FanDuel). This prop currently carries a 52.7% chance of hitting with a 30.6% edge in our system. Smith has cleared this number in three of his past five games and is averaging 4.8 receptions per game this season. The Bills’ secondary has been average overall, ranking 17th in the league with a 57.1 team coverage grade. At nearly +150 odds, this stands out as one of the best bets on the board this week.

Spadaro: A six-pack of storylines to follow at Bills – PE.com

From the players who saw Buffalo earlier this season. Jaelan Phillips and Michael Carter played against Buffalo earlier in 2025 when they were with Miami and the New York Jets, respectively. Their thoughts … From Phillips, whose Dolphins lost to Buffalo 31-20 on September 18: “They’re just a dynamic team, they have weapons all around. I think Josh Allen is arguably the best quarterback in the league and he does some pretty amazing things with the ball, so just a challenge to be able to stop all the facets of their offense. But yeah, it’ll be a fun challenge for sure. “It was a close game. It always is a close game when I’ve played against them. They always kind of find a way to win, but that’s something that you just have to know coming into it, you’ve got to stop their momentum, you’ve got to take care of business, and keep your foot on the gas when you have the opportunity because if you don’t, they will find a way to come back. So you’ve definitely got to stay diligent when it comes to that. Those are the Bills man, they find a way to get it done. Still a really high-powered offense, no matter how they try to kind of configure things. They’re committed to running the ball. And the quarterback is still the quarterback, he can make plays and extend and make every throw, but I think he’s definitely more careful with the ball, but still trusts his arm to make every throw. They’re a really good team. And I’ll say they really are committed to running the ball and want to be that team for sure.”

Doesn’t sound like a vote of confidence for Matt Eberflus from Jerry Jones – Blogging The Boys

It stands to reason that the Dallas Cowboys are going to make a change at defensive coordinator sometime soon. For the most part, the Cowboys defense has been objectively awful across the entire season. The team as a whole had the three-game winning streak where everything was sort of working together, but the defense has let the group down time after time after time after time. Consider that Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Javonte Williams have each had amazing years on offense, and that the offense as a whole has been among the very best in the NFL. They have partly had to be so great because they have had to try and put up more points to make up for where the defense is falling apart, and it seems that Jerry Jones is pretty much at his limit with this whole thing.

Commanders center Tyler Biadasz leaves the game with a knee injury – Hogs Haven

[BLG Note: Looks like the Commanders could be without their starting center in Week 18.]

New York Giants mailbag: Fans eyes have turned toward the future – Big Blue View

I think that makes my position crystal clear. Trading Dart and drafting another quarterback is a dumb idea. One thing I want to add. Who is saying Mendoza is a better prospect? I have seen some analysts say Dart would be the top quarterback, and thus the No. 1 overall pick, if he were in the 2026 draft class. Why blow a golden opportunity add multiple Day 1 and Day 2 draft assets? [BLG Note: I think the Giants could regret passing on a quarterback at No. 1 overall.]

Jordan Love injury: QB ruled out for Packers-Ravens – SB Nation

The Green Bay Packers clinched a playoff spot on Christmas when the Detroit Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings. While the Packers remain alive in the race with the Chicago Bears for the NFC North title, the Packers need to win their remaining two games to have a chance at the division crown. And that first game will come without their starting quarterback. Jordan Love, who left Green Bay’s Week 17 loss to the Bears with a concussion, was ruled out by the team on Friday. While head coach Matt LaFleur was optimistic earlier in the week that Love would be able to play, the team downgraded him to out on Friday. In addition to the concussion, Love is also dealing with a shoulder injury.
