On this Christmas Day, some of us. . .and, we hope, some of you as well. . .will be spending some of our time watching our Minnesota Vikings take the field in their “Winter Whiteout” uniforms as they face off against the Detroit Lions in the penultimate game of this 2025 NFL season. We want to make sure you have all of the information you need to keep track of today’s action, so let’s get to that, shall we?

The Vikings and Lions make up the meat of the Christmas Day tripleheader sandwich, with kickoff time scheduled for 3:30 PM Central time: This game is being broadcast on Netflix, which is the only way you’re going to be able to see the game. . .unless, as we mentioned yesterday, you live in either the Twin Cities or in Detroit. If you live in either of those two areas, you can catch the game on the local CBS affiliate. In the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, that’s WCCO-4, while in Detroit, that’s WWJ-62. Outside of that, you’re heading to Netflix. No maps needed, because it’s the only game in town.
For our men and women serving in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will be showing this one LIVE on AFN Sports 2, with kickoff slated for 2130Z. That translates to 2230L for viewers in Central Europe, 0030L on Friday morning for those in Iraq and Kuwait, and 0630L on Friday morning for fans in Japan and Korea. You’re either staying up late or getting up early, folks. Either way, hopefully it will be worth it.

If you have satellite radio, you can catch the Vikings feed on Channel 228. If you prefer, you can also get the national feed from Westwood One via SiriusXM NFL Radio, Channel 88. If you’re utilizing the SiriusXM app, you can listen on the Vikings’ permanent home there, which is Channel 820.

According to the folks from Football Zebras, the officiating crew for this one will be headed up by Shawn Smith. The Vikings haven’t seen Smith since November of last year, when his crew called the Vikings’ 21-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Yep, it’s an indoor game at U.S. Bank Stadium, so nothing that’s happening outside will affect the action on the field. If you’re traveling to the game, the weather is going to be sufficiently “blah” according to our friends at WeatherNation. Temperatures at kickoff are going to be in the mid-30s with what we call a “wintry mix” of precipitation and winds coming out of the west at 10-15 miles an hour.

There’s been some movement in the betting lines for this one, as you’d probably expect. The Vikings started out as a 5.5-point underdog according to FanDuel, but that line has swelled to Vikings +7.5 over the past couple of days. The over/under for this one still sits at 43.5 points, so no change there.
