The Miami Dolphins fell to 6-9 last week when they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in yet another embarrassing performance. This year has been anything but productive for Miami, who, despite a four-game win streak in the middle of the year, have struggled to look competitive for much of the year. The third quarter continues to be the bane of the team, and they have not looked like a team that can stand up and go toe-to-toe with many other clubs this year.
On Sunday, they will have another chance to put a good performance on tape – too late for it to count for anything other than pride, but at least end their home schedule for the year with a positive feeling. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-8) head down I-75 in Week 17 to visit the Dolphins, bringing with them hopes of reclaiming the lead in the NFC South division title race.
The oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook think the Buccaneers will leave Miami with a .500 record. Tampa Bay is favored by 5.5 points early this week. They are -245 on the moneyline for the straight-up win, while the Dolphins are +200 to come away with the upset. The point total is 45.5.
Miami looked completely outmatched in Week 15. They, like Cincinnati, are simply playing for pride now, but how much pride is left in the team?
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.
