Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
2026 Pro Bowl roster snubs: Who should be an NFL all-star? – ESPN
Lane Johnson, OT, Philadelphia Eagles. Who he should replace: Trent Williams, OT, San Francisco 49ers. Why he should be in: If Joe Alt can make the Pro Bowl despite playing only six games, I don’t particularly understand how the best tackle in football didn’t make the Pro Bowl with 10 games played. Johnson is an unparalleled talent at right tackle who should have been in over all three NFC tackles so long as his health absence was not disqualifying.
The Eagles should put the pedal to the metal against the Bills – BGN
Now is not the time to take the foot off the gas. Flying high thanks to a badly-needed two-game winning streak on the heels of three straight deflating defeats, the Eagles find themselves in a solid position entering the final two weeks of the season. With their second straight division title locked up, the Birds have looked a lot more like their 2024 selves of late, just in time for another Super Bowl run. They will most likely enter the postseason tournament as the No. 3 seed in the NFC, although there is an outside shot at No. 2.
NFC East Mixtape Vol. 181: The Eagles Broke The NFC East Curse – BGN YouTube
It finally happened. A team actually repeated as NFC East winners as the Philadelphia Eagles locked up the NFL’s most storied division last week. They are headed back to the playoffs and as they are the Dallas Cowboys joined both the Washington Commanders and New York Giants as teams officially eliminated from playoff contention. What do we make of all four teams as we enter the final two weeks of the regular season? RJ Ochoa and Brandon Lee Gowton discuss on the latest edition of the NFC East Mixtape.
NFC Hierarchy/Obituary: Week 17 edition – PhillyVoice
5) Eagles (10-5): The Eagles’ defense has been on fire of late, the offense has been better, and they’ll be getting Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter back from injuries. Nobody is talking about the Eagles as Super Bowl favorites anymore, and for good reason since their offense went into hibernation for a month-plus, but they can beat anyone.
I’m sure Fangio would credit DL coach Clint Hurtt and the players, but I think the old man deserves credit for knowing how/when to use his guys. He has done a good job of building their confidence while also being tough on them. Jordan Davis has gone from underachiever to possible Pro Bowl player. Davis doesn’t get there without tough love from Uncle Vic. Fangio is special because he understands players and schemes. Think about the vision he had for Zack Baun. He took a role player edge rusher and turned him into an All Pro LB. Cooper DeJean was an outside CB at Iowa. Some thought he might be best at safety. Fangio put Coop in the slot and he’s become an elite player. As for scheme, he’s brilliant at taking simple ideas and getting his players to execute them at a high level.
No suspension coming for Tyler Steen after fight in Washington – NBCSP
The Eagles will have right guard Tyler Steen when they play the Bills on the road Sunday in Week 17. There will be no suspensions handed out from the fight between the Eagles and Commanders in the fourth quarter on Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. While Steen will obviously be fined for his role in the fracas, he will not have to miss a game and give up a game check. The fight between the Eagles and Commanders came with just over 4 minutes remaining in the Eagles’ 29-18 win. It broke out after the Eagles’ successful two-point conversion attempt, which put them up 29-10. The incident began with some pushing and shoving before Steen found himself in the middle of a bunch of burgundy jerseys throwing punches. Steen was tossed from the game along with two Washington players: Javon Kinlaw and Quan Martin, who were also involved. “It’s chippy out there,” said running back Saquon Barkley, who was also involved in some pushing. “We have a lot of history with this team, especially since I’ve been here and have it in the past. This team don’t like us. That’s just the truth. We don’t like them either. But we gotta keep it football.”
Struggling Eagles player opens up about benching: ‘I’m not perfect’ – NJ.com
“I’m a 21-year-old linebacker in the NFL, so damn sure got a bright future ahead of me,” Campbell told NJ Advance Media on Saturday after the team’s victory over the Washington Commanders. Fourth-year linebacker Nakobe Dean missed the first five weeks of this season recovering from last year’s knee injury and was not given a full workload until after the Week 9 bye. Once he replaced Campbell as the starter last month, the Eagles’ defense improved against the run and with its blitzing, two facets of the game that remain unpolished for Campbell. He has great long-term upside because of his coverage skills, but he will need to grow as a run defender to reach his full potential. According to Pro Football Focus metrics, he ranks 45th out of 85 linebackers in run defense. “I’m not perfect,” Campbell said. “Just learning from the greats, right? Even from the linebackers we got (on our team). Learning from a guy like (Commanders linebacker) Bobby Wagner, who we just played. Just learning and finding different ways and finding different tools to not just focus on one area, but focus on the overall picture of, ‘Okay, what is linebacker actually? What is their job? What is their task?’”
Former Eagles executive Jim Gallagher honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame – PE.com
The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday that Eagles Hall of Fame executive Jim Gallagher was chosen as an Awards of Excellence winner for 2026 in the Public Relations Directors category. The late Gallagher will be honored along with the other Awards of Excellence winners in Canton, Ohio in June. Gallagher is one of only 17 public relations personnel to be recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Josh Allen considered day-to-day, but is expected to play vs. Eagles – PFT
It doesn’t sound like quarterback Josh Allen is at risk of missing any playing time after suffering a foot injury during Sunday’s victory over the Browns. Via multiple reporters, head coach Sean McDermott said in his Monday news conference that Allen is considered day-to-day at the moment, but he anticipates Allen will be available for Sunday’s game against the Eagles. McDermott added that Allen may miss some practice time, but he’s currently just sore.
Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles NFL Week 17 odds, spread, betting info – Buffalo Rumblings
Are you surprised by these odds? Remember, Philadelphia is the defending Super Bowl champ. Much has been written about Buffalo’s struggles passing the football, with the least amount of concern levied at quarterback Josh Allen. He’s still producing, but it’s more akin to sifting for diamonds on the moon. Things just haven’t clicked with any wide receiver other than Khalil Shakir (and the group of tight ends). The same has been true of the Eagles, where running back Saquon Barkley looks human again, and the passing attack is an adventure in most games. But like Buffalo, the Eagles just keep winning most weeks. It should make for an interesting game in Week 17.
Former Eagles player’s Super Bowl LIX ring fetches more than $120,000 at auction – Inquirer
Less than one year removed from winning Super Bowl LIX, former Eagles offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi put his Super Bowl ring up for auction. On Saturday, that ring sold for $124,440 on Heritage Auctions.
The ring was designed by Jason Arasheben, the founder of Jason of Beverly Hills, and features 145 diamonds in the bezel of the ring, paying homage to the team’s 145 playoff points. The ring also features 18 green stones paying tribute to the team’s 18 victories last season. The top of the ring spells “world champions” in 40 diamonds to represent the 40 points they scored against the Chiefs, and there is a pair of moving wings that open with a push of a button to reveal Nick Sirianni’s motto, “You can’t be great without the greatness of others.”
Washington Commanders bring back former QB after another injury – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders are reportedly signing QB Jeff Driskel from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad. Marcus Mariota is day-to-day with hand and quad injuries, and Jayden Daniels has been shut down for the season. Josh Johnson is the only other QB on the 53-man roster, and Sam Hartman is available on the practice squad.
Dallas Cowboys may have clause in Tyler Smith’s contract for tackle switch – Blogging The Boys
George Pickens. Pickens has been the Cowboys best receiver this year and raised his profile even further around the league. His Pro Bowl performance is going to cost the Cowboys more money when they try to re-sign him, but they have made every indication they are going to keep him.
NY Giants head-coaching search: Could John Harbaugh really be available? – Big Blue View
If Harbaugh and the Ravens decide it it time for them to go their separate ways and Harbaugh wants to continue coaching — which his remarks seem to indicate he does — the Giants should waste no time finding out if Harbaugh in interested in the Giants’ job. Is Harbaugh a perfect coach? No. We have seen some odd game plans and missed opportunities from the Ravens over the years. He would, though, bring the pedigree and instant credibility that could help set the Giants back on the right path. After nearly two decades of working with a highly-regarded front office in Baltimore, would Harbaugh be OK working with embattled Giants GM Joe Schoen? If not, Harbaugh is one of the few coaches probably worth allowing to bring his own general manager.
NFL MVP: Our pick for Matthew Stafford, Drake Maye, or the field – SB Nation
With only two weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, it’s time to talk seriously about the MVP award. An up-and-down season, resplendent with randomness has changed the course of predicting this award numerous times during the season. We went through Baker Mayfield talk, Sam Darnold chatter, and Jonathan Taylor chatter, before ending up here. There’s now a clear-cut favorite, and an intriguing field — all of whom are deserving of the award in their own ways. Today Football Court debates whether or not the NFL MVP in 2025 is the odds-on favorite Matthew Stafford, or if someone from the field is more deserving of the award.
