Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 15 games.
NFC EAST FOCUS
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles’ magic number to win the division is three. By beating the Raiders, it drops to two. Go Birds.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at DALLAS COWBOYS: If the Eagles beat the Raiders AND the Cowboys lose to the Vikings, the Eagles can clinch the NFC East in Week 16 with either 1) an Eagles win over Washington on Saturday … OR … 2) a Cowboys loss to the Chargers on Sunday. Root for the Vikings.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
Here’s a look at the current NFC playoff picture, via ESPN:
ATLANTA FALCONS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: The Falcons beat the Bucs on Thursday night, which is good for the Eagles because it works towards Philly not falling to the No. 4 seed. Bucs lost.
CLEVELAND BROWNS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Bears hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles so Philly doesn’t want them to move back in the NFC North lead. Also, the Browns winning gives the Jets a chance to move ahead of Cleveland in the draft order. Root for the Browns.
GREEN BAY PACKERS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Eagles need the Packers to lose multiple times in order for Philly to move up to the No. 2 seed. Root for the Broncos.
DETROIT LIONS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Eagles getting the No. 1 seed at this point is a long shot (0.1% chance). Better to root for the Lions to lose and not make the playoffs because there are less threatening teams (such as Chicago and San Francisco) that could make it in over them. Root for the Rams.
CAROLINA PANTHERS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Panthers losing works towards the Eagles not falling to the No. 4 seed. The Eagles don’t want to play the NFC West second place finisher in the first round. Also, the Saints winning gives the Jets a chance to move ahead of New Orleans in the draft order. Root for the Saints.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: In the very unlikely chance of the Eagles getting the No. 1 seed, they need the Seahawks to not win out. Root for the Colts.
DRAFT PICK CONSIDERATIONS
Here’s the current 2026 NFL Draft order for non-playoff teams, via Tankathon:
NEW YORK JETS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Root for the Jaguars.
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Giants are currently projected to get the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Commanders aren’t far behind at No. 6 … but it would be best to see the Giants not get the top pick and either use it to select the best available prospect (in theory) or trade it to a quarterback-needy team for a big haul of assets. Root for the Giants.
BALTIMORE RAVENS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Bengals winning helps to keep Cincy below the Jets in the draft order. Root for the Bengals.
ARIZONA CARDINALS at HOUSTON TEXANS: The Eagles want the Jets to stay ahead of the Cardinals in the draft order. Root for the Cardinals.
TENNESSEE TITANS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: The Titans winning gives the Jets a chance to move ahead of Tennessee in the draft order. Root for the Titans.
WHAT’S LEFT
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: Guessing the strength of victory tiebreaker won’t matter for the Eagles but in case it does come into play … the Chiefs winning helps them in that regard. Root for the Chiefs.
BUFFALO BILLS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: In the event that the Eagles are able to beat the Bills, Philly would benefit from Buffalo being as good as possible for strength of victory tiebreaker purposes. Root for the Bills.
MIAMI DOLPHINS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Doesn’t matter.
