The Cincinnati Bengals are truly in a do-or-die position. They’re 4-9, and the best they can do is 8-9, but there is a slim chance they could host a team with double-digit wins—if they get a lot of help from the Steelers and Ravens.
If they lose to the Ravens on Sunday at home, though, the season will officially be sunk. In all likelihood, the season is beyond the point of no return, but while hope exists, there’s a reason to play other than pride, of course.
The Bengals finally put defensive end Trey Hendrickson on IR following a surgery he could have had a month ago, so he’ll be missing from the inactive list for the first time in over a month.
Here’s who is inactive for the Bengals on Sunday:
- WR Tee Higgins
- S PJ Jules
- DT Jordan Jefferson
- QB Jake Browning (emergency 3rd QB)
This is one of the smallest inactive lists of the season, but a lot of that has to do with Hendrickson being on IR and the team finally parting ways with Jermaine Burton. Notice all five tight ends are active, which means we’ll likely be seeing multiple sets with Mike Gesicki and Noah Fant or Tanner Hudson in the lineup at the same time.
And here’s who’s inactive for the Ravens:
- CB Keyon Martin
- DT Aeneas Peebles
- OT Joseph Noteboom
- WR Rashod Bateman
- QB Cooper Rush (emergency 3rd QB)
The winner of this game keeps their slim playoff hopes alive. The loser doesn’t.
