Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

The Eagles insist history isn’t repeating, but the echoes are getting awfully loud – The Athletic

And Lurie, a truly elite owner who has twice fulfilled his dream of giving Philadelphia a Super Bowl victory to celebrate, hasn’t given up hope of completing the trifecta by raising a trophy in Santa Clara, Calif., two months from now. “I have zero concern,” Lurie said as he stood near DeJean’s locker Monday night, shaking off the sting of a third consecutive defeat. “We had a lot of turnovers, but some of them were flukes.” Did it feel like 2023? “Nothing like it,” Lurie insisted. “Absolute opposite. We have a Super Bowl defense and great special teams. Our offense will get it going. I’m not worried at all.” In the coming weeks — with all eyes on the Eagles — we’ll find out if they can live up to the Positivity Owner’s projection.

What was the Eagles’ ‘rock bottom’ in each of their last 10 seasons, and were they able to recover? – PhillyVoice

2023: Eagles at Giants, Week 18. The week before in Week 17, the Eagles lost to a 3-12 Cardinals team that had 15 more first downs and 174 more yards. They ran 25 more plays, held the ball for for almost 20 more minutes of game clock, they didn’t punt, and they scored touchdowns on all four of their second-half possessions. That felt at the time like rock bottom, but it would actually get worse. In Week 18, potentially being able to improve their playoff seeding, the Eagles played their starters to begin the game. But the then-5-11 Giants kicked their asses in the first half, and Sirianni conceded defeat before halftime, replacing Hurts and the rest of the starters with backups. In my opinion, that game was even more pathetic than the loss to the Cardinals. Did they recover? God no. They got blown out by the Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. Both coordinators were fired, and Sirianni almost was as well.

Eagles-Chargers Film Review: This defense deserved better – BGN

This defense played well enough to win, and they deserved better. They dominated the line of scrimmage. The coverage was excellent. However, none of it mattered because the offense continues to let them down. It’s hard to sustain defensive excellence when playing a ton of snaps, but this defense is managing to do it. If the offense can simply stabilize, this defense has the potential to carry this team down the stretch. They just need some help from the other side of the ball.

Pete Carroll vs the Eagles – BGN Feed Post Of The Day

Interesting tidbit.. Pete Carroll is 8-1 all time vs the Eagles.

NFC East Mixtape Vol. 180: The Eagles might blow this to the Cowboys – BGN YouTube

There are four weeks left in the 2025 NFL season and recent events have suggested that it is going to be quite the finish in the league’s most storied division. A month ago the Philadelphia Eagles seemed destined to be the first team to repeat as NFC East winners in forever, but that looks shaky to say the least now. Will the Eagles blow this? Can the Dallas Cowboys rally AND get the help that they need from other teams? RJ Ochoa and Brandon Lee Gowton discuss on the latest edition of the NFC East Mixtape!

NFL Week 15 latest buzz, questions, news and fantasy tips – ESPN

Some people around the league were starting to think the Eagles might draft a quarterback high in 2026 even before Jalen Hurts’ four-interception performance Monday. The prediction from those folks: GM Howie Roseman snags a passer on Day 2, allowing Hurts to serve as the starter in 2026 while having a future starter to develop. “[The Eagles] will do to Jalen what they did to Carson Wentz,” one industry source predicted. The Eagles know that their passing game struggles largely because Hurts has limitations. The reality is the 2024 season was an aberration because Saquon Barkley and a dominant O-line were breaking off big gains weekly, opening up play-action and downfield shots for the passing game. This isn’t the same offensive line, which means the Barkley gains aren’t as frequent. That places the spotlight on Hurts, for better or worse. We saw the good in glimpses against the Chargers — an 11-play drive late in the first half was run-heavy and set up a pair of 11-yard completions for Hurts. But the game featured Hurts in straight dropback situations often, and that can lead to problems. This is a talented team, and Hurts’ 54-25 record as a starter is outstanding. Rallying late in the season wouldn’t surprise. But Hurts is still a question mark in Year 6.

The Best NFL Bets for Week 15 – The Ringer

A wise man would not be dying to jump back in to bet on the Raiders after their absolute miracle cover on Sunday. A wise man would take the money he made last week and run. But I am not a wise man. And I am not sure that this price can be justified given the current state of the Eagles offense. The Eagles have played 13 football games this season, and they have been above average in EPA per drive in only three of them. Their offense cannot consistently move the ball and is heavily reliant on explosive plays to be successful. The Raiders defense is not good, but it is sixth best at preventing big plays. Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham likes to sit in zone defense and keep his safeties high. Last year, the Eagles would have been able to run the ball effectively and force Graham to change his looks. They have not shown that they can do that this season. If you can stomach a bet on the Raiders and Kenny Pickett, I’d consider the under instead, but the Eagles need to prove that they can win by margin first. They’ve won one game all season by multiple scores. Verdict: Bet Raiders +11.5 (–110).

NFL Week 15 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch and betting spreads – PFF

Storyline of the game: Are the Eagles in a rut? The Eagles have lost three consecutive games and are in danger of heading into the postseason with a lot of questions and a lack of answers. They’re 16th in EPA per play on offense and have struggled to consistently meld the passing and rushing attacks together to create a functional down-to-down offense. It looked somewhat better against the Chargers in Week 14, but Jalen Hurts’ (77.7 grade; 8th) five turnovers hurt their chances. Right now, the Eagles are just failing to get over the hump — something that’s not been a problem too often for the reigning Super Bowl champions. The defense has the talent and the guile to bring opposing offenses into the mud, but with as much skill as there is on the offense, Philadelphia should be rolling opponents — but it hasn’t. The Eagles play the 2-11 Raiders in Week 15, a matchup that presents the perfect opportunity to get a win back on the board.

Jalen Hurts: It’s about how you respond, I’m confident I’ll do it well – PFT

Jalen Hurts’ five-turnover performance in Monday night’s loss to the Chargers elicited enough of a response in Philadelphia that Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asked on Wednesday if he has considered benching last season’s Super Bowl MVP. Sirianni scoffed at the idea by calling the notion “ridiculous,” but concern about the state of Hurts and the rest of the offense didn’t just pop up because of one game. The Eagles offense has been a source of concern all season and outside confidence that everything can come together is running low after their third straight loss. Hurts said on Wednesday that his own confidence level hasn’t been shaken, however. “Success or greatness, those things aren’t linear,” Hurts said, via the team’s website. “You have your ups, you have your downs, but it’s about how you respond to it. And I think about that. It’s nothing new that I haven’t faced before. It’s a matter of responding to it. And I got a lot of confidence how we will respond, I got a lot of confidence how it will go.”

NFL Week 15: Bears, Chiefs among 5 playoff contenders facing most pressure – NFL.com

Week 15 opponent: vs. Raiders. This again. Philly fans are reliving the cyclical nightmare of following up an NFC Championship with a combustible campaign. The 2025 season is following an eerily similar path to the 2023 implosion, highlighted by a rocky offense and embattled coordinator. Kevin Patullo’s offense can’t decide what it wants to be, with head-scratching play-calling weekly and an inability to consistently move the chains. He leans on Saquon Barkley for a spell before oddly going away from the reigning Offensive Player of the Year just as he begins to find traction. The Jalen Hurts-led passing attack almost exclusively lives on low-percentage outside throws, in an offense that lacks easy answers for the QB. Before Week 14’s turnover parade, at least we could say Hurts had been taking care of the ball. The offensive line injuries are a massive issue and underscore that the unit has always been the backbone of the squad. If it weren’t for Vic Fangio’s defense, the team would already be making Cancun plans.

Jordan Davis was lights-out for the Eagles defense on Monday night. He also believes in the struggling offense. – Inquirer

“I know for me, personally, I’m never wavered by that stuff,” Davis said. “Offense is going to have their games. And I’m so deep into this faith in the offense that I have, that one day, hopefully very, very soon, it’s going to click. And when it does click, watch out. ’Cause we all know what we’re capable of. We all know that we’re capable of much more. “We have to keep keeping the faith, because I feel like a lot of people are just kind of losing faith. And whether that’s y’all or whether that’s the fans, whatever. But me, I’m still 10 toes down for this team. I hope that we just go out there one game and we just put a 100 ball on them and we play a high level of defense. I‘m always telling them, I’m always confident. I always say before we walk out, go on the field for the game, I say, ‘Each and every [expletive] in this locker room, I have full faith in.’ Because I wouldn’t be playing this game at my purest confidence if I wasn’t confident in the team that I have behind me.”

Jalyx? Quinyon? Jordan? Cooper? Zack? Who’s the Eagles’ defensive MVP? – NBCSP

Cooper DeJean: Third-year pro is having another tremendous year, now splitting his time between outside corner in base and the slot in nickel. He’s never in the wrong place, he never misses a tackle and he’s a nightmare matchup for opposing teams’ slot receiver. Among 101 corners who’ve played at least 200 snaps, his Pro Football Focus grade is 8th-highest.

The Top NFL Head Coaching Candidates Teams Will Consider for 2026 – SI

Kevin Patullo, offensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles. Patullo, 44, is in his first season as the offensive coordinator of the Eagles but has made prior appearances on this list before stepping into one of the most difficult jobs in the NFL. Patullo’s strength is his ability to think big picture. Nick Sirianni has leaned heavily on the longtime NFL assistant for his ability to help build a staff and craft larger-scale decisions that can impact the team. From that standpoint, Patullo has been instrumental in helping the Eagles survive myriad coordinator and personnel changes over this run of unprecedented success in Philly. With the Giants’ job being open, it would be a surprise if a division rival did not bring him in for an interview.

The NFL needs the Cowboys in the playoffs more than the boring Eagles – SB Nation

I really appreciate if you think this headline is ragebait, and truly it brings me no joy in saying it. Like every non-Cowboys fan I’m just as sick of the endless chatter, nauseating discussion, and extreme exposure we have to endure seeing Dallas on primetime football every other week, simply because everyone’s most obnoxious friend has been a fan of “America’s Team” since they peaked in the mid-90s like Mel Gibson. That said, I had a really gross intrusive thought that made me puke in my mouth a little bit and I need to put it out there: We need Dallas in the playoffs.

Brock Bowers is so consistent – Silver And Black Pride

The isn’t a lot of things to be excited about when it comes to the las Vegas Raiders. However, Brock Bowers is an exception. The second-year tight end is a sublime talent and he has already established himself as one of the best, most consistent players ever at his position. Sunday, a home loss to the Denver Broncos, Bowers, the Raiders first-round draft pick in 2024, caught multiple passes for the 26th time in his career. he has failed to do some in just one game, a Week 10 road loss at Denver this season.

Cowboys Injuries: CeeDee Lamb limited, Tyler Guyton DNP – Blogging The Boys

CeeDee Lamb (concussion) was limited at practice on Wednesday. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said that Lamb is improving but has a few more thresholds to pass before playing Sunday. He was seen participating in drills on the field today. Trevon Diggs (knee) was limited on Wednesday. Diggs is eager to return, yet the team hasn’t seen enough just yet to be convinced to activate him from injured reserve. Tyler Guyton (ankle) still hasn’t practiced since beginning his multi-week absence because of a high-ankle sprain. Jadeveon Clowney (hamstring) returned to practice after missing last Thursday’s game against the Lions. The Cowboys designated him as limited. Aside from Guyton, Malik Hooker (NIR-Personal) was the only other player not practicing today.

2025 Commanders’ Tank Watch – Week 15 – Hogs Haven

New York Giants (2-11) vs Washington Commanders (3-10) – It would be crossing a line to ask Hogs Haven readers to cheer for a Commanders’ loss. Instead, I will merely point out that a win by the Giants will move Washington up a minimum of one position in the draft order. In addition to moving the Commanders into rarified territory of the draft, this would allow them to take an impact player off the board who would otherwise fall to a division rival. The Australian parliamentary system, has something called a conscience vote, when members of parliament are allowed to vote across party lines without repercussions. That’s what’s called for here. Cheer however your conscience tells you.

Jayden Daniels injury: Washington Commanders QB out vs. New York Giants – Big Blue View

Jayden Daniels will not play Sunday when the Washington Commanders face the New York Giants. Washington’s second-year quarterback left Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings after aggravating his left elbow, which he dislocated in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
