With the Cincinnati Bengals falling to 4-9 and their playoff hopes all but dashed, one would wonder if their last primetime game vs. the Miami Dolphins would stay in the Week 16 Sunday Night Football slot.
Monday, we got news that the game would, in fact, be flexed out in favor of a matchup with more playoff implications.
The New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens game will now occupy the prime time slot, with Bengals/Dolphins being bumped back to 1pm.
With both Miami and Cincinnati in third place in their respective divisions, the league opted for a Lamar Jackson vs. Drake Maye showdown, as Baltimore looks to recover from an early season slump and possibly win another AFC North crown.
Don’t look for the Bengals’ final two games against the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns to be in the late window, either. Both matchups are still listed as TBD on the schedule, but you can all but guarantee they will be 1pm kickoffs.
