The Miami Dolphins visit the New York Jets on Sunday in the second half of the AFC East rivals’ annual home-and-home series. The Dolphins won the first game, beating New York 27-21 in Miami during Week 4. Now, in Week 14, the teams will rematch at the Jets’ MetLife Stadium.
The Dolphins, 5-7 on the year, are looking to continue an unlikely late-season rebound. The team started the year 1-6, the victory over the Jets was the only win during the first third of the season. Since that start, however, Miami has won four of their last five games, including each of the last three contests. They look to make it four in a row with the season sweep of New York.
The Jets come into the game at 3-9, losing their first seven games before wins on either side of their Week 9 bye. They lost two more after those victories before coming away with the win last week against the Atlanta Falcons. They have made a change at quarterback, replacing Justin Fields with Tyrod Taylor, in hopes of sparking a late-season run.
A late-season meeting between the Dolphins and Jets has been must-watch football in the past, but this week, the game is buried in the CBS broadcast plans. Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta have the commentary for the game, but not much of the country will have the coverage.
In Florida, the Miami, Fort Myers, and West Palm Beach markets are expected to have the game, covering the Dolphins side of the fan base. For the home Jets, the game will aid in the New York City market, including most of northern New Jersey, then carry on up to Albany.
That is the entire broadcast area for the game. If you are not in the South Florida, New York City, or Albany markets, you will have to rely on NFL Sunday Ticket or a sports bar to see the game.
