The Detroit Lions (7-5) and Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1) have declared their initial Week 14 injury reports as they prepare to square off in an NFC showdown. With this game being played on a Thursday, the Lions’ practice schedule is altered this week. Their initial report comes out on Monday, while the injury declarations will be announced on Wednesday.

Let’s take a look at the latest injury report and get you up to date with what we know. Note: Any changes from the last injury report will be bolded.

Injured list updates

Zylstra, who has been out most of the season with an ankle injury, has returned to practice. With the Lions’ tight end room currently without their top two options, Zylstra could bring a big boost to the room when fully healthy and ready to return.

Paschal appeared to be progressing through the injury evaluation window, but was downgraded and unable to practice midway through last week, indicating something unexpected likely happened. Unfortunately, his injury evaluation clock expired last Wednesday, and the Lions elected to leave him on the NFI list, thus ending his 2025 season. With Paschal being in a contract year, he’ll enter the offseason with his future in limbo.

“It just wasn’t enough time, really, to really be able to say that we knew he would be able to get through the year or that he was ready,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said on Sunday. “That’s what it came down to. Hate it for him, but it’s where it was at.”

No practice

  • WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) — injured in Week 13
  • WR Kalif Raymond (ankle)
  • TE Brock Wright (neck)
  • CB Terrion Arnold (shoulder) — New injury

St. Brown’s injury is not expected to be long-term, and an MRI confirmed a low ankle sprain with no structural damage, but it could keep him out of this game and possibly the next. St. Brown will surely be pushing to play this week, but don’t expect the Lions to take any chances with one of their core players. If there’s any risk, they’ll likely hold him out.

Raymond’s availability is still a bit of a mystery as the Campbell did not provide an update ahead of this report, but hopefully, we’ll know more on Tuesday.

Wright’s neck injury was clarified a bit this week: Campbell called it a “trachea” injury, and Dave Birkett later reported that the tight end actually fractured cartilage in his throat, similarly to what Frank Ragnow did five years ago. Unfortunately, without new information, this could result in a long-term injury.

“Nothing new from last week,” Campbell stated. “We’re still sending out scans for this trachea and just seeing if there’s any other second opinions that would change the outlook for him playing. And right now, there’s really nothing, right now, that would change that. And I know that frustrates him; he wants to play. But we’re just kind of in a holding pattern right now.”

Arnold just cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and returned to limited work in Week 13. He didn’t appear to suffer his shoulder injury in the game, but he was unable to practice on Monday, indicating it likely popped up afterward.

Limited practice

  • RB Sione Vaki (thumb)
  • TE Shane Zylstra (ankle, IR) — Days remaining in injury evaluation clock: 20
  • LT Taylor Decker (shoulder)
  • C Graham Glasgow (knee) — Upgraded from no practice
  • S Brian Branch (toe/ankle)
  • S Kerby Joseph (knee) — Upgraded from no practice

Vaki continues to play through his most recent injuries, though his thumb injury is likely what’s keeping him from a special teams returner role. It’s worth noting that he is no longer listed with an ankle injury.

Decker has routinely alternated between participating in practices and taking time off to allow his body to heal. Nothing new to worry about here.

Glasgow’s doing “better,” Campbell said on Sunday, while also making sure to note that they’ve only done walkthroughs ahead of Monday’s practice. Nothing is certain at this stage of his rehabilitation, but a return to the field is a step in the right direction.

Branch has had lingering foot injuries for just over a month now, but he’s been able to play through them for the most part. It’s worth keeping an eye on things, but the concern level is very low.

Joseph has now missed six games as the Lions work toward getting “some stability in the leg.” But he’s been running and doing some individual work for a while now, and a return to practice on Monday is a big next step.

“I mean, he’s closer than he was before,” Campbell noted on Sunday. “He’s close. We’ll know a lot more, really, tomorrow (Monday). Today’s a walkthrough, so tomorrow (and Tuesday), see where he’s at. But he is getting better, like we said, he gets better every week.”

No longer on the injury report

  • RB Jacob Saylors (back/knee)
  • WR Isaac TeSlaa (hand)
  • RT Penei Sewell (ankle)
  • RG Tate Ratledge (knee)
  • G Miles Frazier (knee)
  • EDGE Marcus Davenport (shoulder)

Saylors has also played through his injuries and is contributing fully on special teams, but he’s now off the injury report. With Craig Reynolds off to the Patriots, Saylors and Vaki’s roles have increased.

TeSlaa has been banged up of late but has been able to play through an oblique and hand injury. With St. Brown and Raymond not practicing, the rookie should be in line for another starting role this week.

Sewell has been a regular on the injury report of late, but he’s managed to play through all of his injuries. Now that he’s off the injury report, the expectation is that he’ll start again this week without concern.

Ratledge has also been able to play through his injuries, as the rookie’s body has been able to bounce back quickly when dealing with an injury. With him clear of the injury report, things are looking up.

Frazier was activated from PUP last week, but was ruled inactive for the game. It’s not clear whether his ankle or inexperience kept him from participating, but he’s headed in the right direction.

Davenport was activated from IR last week and was immediately dropped into the starting lineup. With Kelvin Sheppard demanding more from the team’s pass rush and even considering altering the scheme, having a player like Davenport at his disposal will certainly help.
