The Los Angeles Rams officially activated cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon on Saturday and he will return to the field on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, as confirmed earlier in the week by head coach Sean McVay. Witherspoon has missed nine games with a broken scapula. Missing time is nothing new to Witherspoon, who has only been healthy for over 14 games once in his nine-year career, so that means returning to the field will be familiar to him too.
Witherspoon was one of a handful of moves this week, which also included bringing back cornerback Derion Kendrick after he was waived by the Seattle Seahawks. L.A.’s cornerbacks room goes from depleted to overflowing:
- CB Emmanuel Forbes
- CB Darious Williams
- CB Ahkello Witherspoon
- CB Cobie Durant
- CB Derion Kendrick
- CB Josh Wallace
The Rams also have four safeties on the 53-man roster between Kam Kinchens, Kam Curl, Jaylen McCollough, and Chris Smith II with Quentin Lake going on injured reserve.
On offense, the team is expecting the return of receiver Tutu Atwell.
But the right tackle spot will be manned by Warren McClendon Jr with Rob Havenstein on IR and the team added tight end Nick Vannett with Tyler Higbee going on IR.
At 9-2, the Rams hold the number one seed in their hands with six games left to play in the regular season. As the roster moves continue, L.A. hopes that so will the good times that have been rolling.
