Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Other Giant observations
Q: What made Charlie Bullen the right person to take over the defense? Did you have a previous relationship?
Kafka: “I hadn’t had a previous relationship with him, but just watching him from afar, I obviously have a lot of respect for him as a coach, as a person. I just really believe that he’s ready to take that next step and be a coordinator. I’m excited to see him put this thing together, get organized with the coaches, and then go out there and call his game.”

The Giants have allowed a remarkable 6.0 yards per carry when we remove scrambles, kneel-downs and aborted plays. That’s the highest figure in modern NFL history by half a yard. The 2002 Chargers allowed 5.5 yards per carry through their first 12 games, but the NFL as a whole allowed 4.5 yards per carry that season. This season, the league average is lower at 4.3.
The failure to stop the run comes across all three levels of the New York defense. It is currently 29th in run stop win rate, but the real damage comes from long runs. The Giants are last in second-level yards per carry (gains that come 5 to 10 yards past the line of scrimmage) and open-field yards per carry (gains that come 11 or more yards past the line of scrimmage).
NFL Week 13 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch | PFF
Matchup to watch: Giants EDGE Brian Burns vs. Patriots T Vederian Lowe. With Patriots starting left tackle Will Campbell (71.3 grade; 29th) on IR for at least the next four games, tackle Vederian Lowe (43.8 grade) is the next man up to protect Maye’s blindside. That could create some issues for the Patriots, especially against the Giants edge rusher Brian Burns (76.7 grade; 24th). Burns leads the team in pressures (39) and sacks (11) and will look to pin his ears back against the Patriots’ backup left tackle. It could be a long day for Lowe.

Cam Skattebo is out for the year and Jaxson Dart has missed time with a concussion, but the two rookies have injected hope and fun into the Giants, despite the team’s horrendous won-loss record. We’re still talking about Skattebo, even though he’s not on the field, thanks to his recent pro wrestling cameo. (BTW, you don’t have to be outraged about everything, grumps). And we can’t wait until he’s back on the gridiron. Dart, meanwhile, has been so good that the Giants just might have found their long-term answer at quarterback. In the NFL, that’s something big, even if everything else needs a lotta work.
Giants scout Blaise Bell reveals his first — and lasting — impression of Cam Skattebo | New York Post
Blaise Bell saw plenty of Cam Skattebo — and his first meeting with the electric rookie rusher left a mark. “Obviously he wasn’t banging his head or anything against the wall the first time we met him but he had a nice balance of being super personable, polished, articulate.”

While no injury report was released by the club due to the game taking place on Monday, six players were missing during the brief media window at the start of the session. That group consisted of starting offensive tackles Will Campbell and Morgan Moses, guard Jared Wilson, linebackers Harold Landry and Jahlani Tavai as well as special teams captain Brenden Schooler.
In addition, defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga was present but not participating in the early action.
Patriots rookie kicker Andy Borregales has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 12, becoming the third New England player to earn the honor this season. He joins running back Antonio Gibson (Week 2) and cornerback Marcus Jones (Week 4) as Patriots recognized for standout special teams performances in 2025.
That reliability was on full display in Sunday’s victory over the Bengals, where Borregales delivered three second-half field goals that helped New England maintain its lead and ultimately seal the win, none bigger than a 52-yarder he made with 1:56 to play to re-extend the Patriots six-point lead.

5. New England Patriots. The schedule certainly helped them this year, as New England’s strength of schedule is .346 (lowest in the league) and their strength of victory clocks in at .342. That’s not the most-impressive resume. They do face the Bills (at home) and the Ravens in Baltimore down the stretch, which will be two more occasions for the Patriots to show what they can do. But with players on the offensive line injured, including first-round pick Will Campbell, things might get tougher for Drake Maye.
