The Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks have issued their first injury reports of the week in advance of their Sunday afternoon matchup at Lumen Field. Here they are:

Minnesota Vikings

  • LT Christian Darrisaw, Knee/Foot, DNP
  • LG Donovan Jackson, Ankle, DNP
  • QB J.J. McCarthy, Concussion, Limited
  • OLB Jonathan Greenard, Shoulder, Limited
  • S Theo Jackson, Neck, Limited
  • WR Justin Jefferson, NIR-Rest, Limited
  • S Josh Metellus, Knee/Shoulder, Limited
  • S Harrison Smith, NIR-Rest, Limited
  • OLB Dallas Turner, Hip, Limited

For the Vikings, J.J. McCarthy remains in the concussion protocol and was limited to individual drills on Wednesday, while Max Brosmer took first-team reps and John Wolford ran the scout team. In the past when McCarthy hasn’t had a full week of practice, he hasn’t played, so his missing first-team reps on Wednesday suggests Max Brosmer will start on Sunday. Nothing has been announced, but all signs point that way.

Kevin O’Connell reported that Christian Darrisaw has soreness, presumably with the foot injury he suffered in the Packers game that kept him out for most of it. KOC also said that Donovan Jackson will try to ramp up this week with his ankle injury but he’ll need to progress from where he’s at now to be active on Sunday, which he said was possible.

Jonathan Greenard was close to returning last Sunday so I expect he’ll be ready to go for the Seahawks game. The others are either on rest days or working through issues that aren’t likely to keep them out on Sunday. Josh Metellus looked to be in a lot of pain at times last Sunday, but was able to return to the game, so hopefully he’ll be okay for Sunday’s game as well.

The real question marks at the moment are both Darrisaw and Jackson and their absence on Sunday would make things a lot more difficult for Max Brosmer, assuming he starts. Hopefully they’ll be able to rally and start on Sunday, but we’ll see. Teams not in the playoff hunt often have more guys taking a cautious approach regarding injuries.

Seattle Seahawks

  • RB George Holani, Hamstring, DNP
  • LB Ernest Jones, Knee, Limited
  • WR Cooper Kupp, NIR-rest, Limited
  • LB DeMarcus Lawrence, NIR-rest, Limited
  • DE Rylie Mills, Knee, Limited
  • DE Mike Morris, Knee, Limited
  • LB Uchenna Nwosu, Ankle, DNP
  • S Ty Okada, Oblique, DNP
  • WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, NIR-rest, Limited
  • RB Kenneth Walker III, Glute, Limited
  • WR Cody White, Abdomen, Full
  • DE Leonard Williams, NIR-rest, Limited
  • G Grey Zabel, Knee, Limited

For the Seahawks, there list is a bit longer but the only starter that looks more questionable to play on Sunday is Uchenna Nwosu, who didn’t practice today with an ankle injury. The others are either backups or not likely to miss Sunday’s game.

We’ll have a couple more injury updates later this week so stay tuned for any new developments.
