Fantasy football waiver wire pickups: NFL Week 13

Fantasy football waiver wire pickups: NFL Week 13

  • Keep an eye on injury reports: Several players suffered injuries late in their games in Week 12, making it difficult to estimate the severity. A few players could miss extended time, leading to some significant value off the waiver wire.

Another week of the 2025 NFL season is just about in the books. Here are the players you should be targeting in your fantasy football leagues, including options for smaller leagues and deeper leagues, as well as players to avoid.

QUARTERBACK

Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals (Rostered in 46.5% of leagues on ESPN)

  • League Size: 10
  • Time Frame: Week 13, Long Term

Brissett has been an excellent fantasy asset since becoming the Cardinals’ starting quarterback, scoring at least 18 fantasy points in each of his past six games. No other quarterback has an active streak longer than three games. Brissett’s roster share has increased each week, but he is still available in many leagues.

The Cardinals play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week, and they have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Brissett’s recent strong play and the good matchup make him the best waiver-wire option for anyone who needs a quarterback this week. The Cardinals’ schedule is rough after that, until the fantasy championship round, when they face the Cincinnati Bengals. Still, Brissett might be the best option off the waiver wire in those weeks, too.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (28.7%)

  • League Size: 10
  • Time Frame: Long Term

The Jaguars haven’t had top wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter in recent weeks, but that hasn’t slowed Lawrence. He has scored at least 16 fantasy points in six of his past seven games. The Jaguars’ schedule over that span hasn’t always been favorable, but they’ve been passing often. This past week, Lawrence completed 18 of 30 passes for 256 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

The former No. 1 overall pick has averaged 17.7 fantasy points since Week 6, which ranks 14th among quarterbacks with at least three games played, making Lawrence a borderline fantasy starter. He’s performed the best among those available on the waiver wire outside of Brissett and Joe Flacco, who is likely to lose his playing job to Joe Burrow this week. No other available starting quarterback is averaging more than 15.0 fantasy points.

Jacksonville’s schedule the rest of the way is fine, with games against the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts twice, New York Jets and Denver Broncos. The gap between how Lawrence is performing relative to the other waiver-wire quarterbacks outside of Brissett is large enough to make up for any schedule concerns.
