Here we are once again. The Detroit Lions are coming off a disappointing loss, and now they need to take out their frustrations on another team. This week’s victim is the New York Giants, who are coming in limping and with a new coach. Detroit opened up as a 10.5-point favorite according to FanDuel, and the spread grew to 12.5 after it was announced that Giants rookie quarterback Jaxton Dart would miss this week. With Dart out, that gives the Lions an easier time on the defensive side, as Dart has been explosive for the Giants this season. Even without him, though, the Giants almost upset the Green Bay Packers last week, so they can’t be overlooked.
“So, actually, I showed the team, this team has been in a ton of these games,” said Lions head coach Dan Campbell. “And a few of these games, they’ve been up a couple of scores and lost a tight one there a few times. And so they’ve been in most of these games, had a chance to win them, they’re competitive, they play hard. It’s a good unit. I know they made the change (at head coach) a week ago, but they had a chance last week again in that game.”
