The Detroit Lions eked out a win, although they still remain outside of the NFC playoff picture thanks to wins from the Packers and Bears on Sunday.
But the NFC playoffs are far from settled and Sunday will close out with a big game that could have big implications for the race. The 8-2 Los Angeles Rams look like one of the most complete teams in football, and they are taking on the NFC South leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In terms of what outcome best serves the Lions, it’s really a toss-up. Detroit’s first priority should be to just get into the playoffs, and both Tampa and Los Angeles seem pretty safe in their postseason spots. The Rams would have to have an epic meltdown to miss out on a spot, while the Buccaneers don’t have much competition in their division—unless the Panthers make an unlikely run.
Still, it should be a fun game to watch and see a couple of teams who the Lions may see in the postseason, should each team get there.
