NFL Pro Bowl sleepers: Ten overlooked players quietly having standout 2025 seasons – NFL.com

MORO OJOMO: With big names littering the Eagles’ defensive line, Ojomo might not get the attention to earn a Pro Bowl nod, but he’s been an undeniable difference-maker in Philly’s studly front. Helping fill the hole left by Milton Williams, Ojomo has been a revelation. Pro Football Focus charted the third-year pro with 35 QB pressures, tied for the third-most among interior defenders through Week 11. He’s tied with Williams, coincidentally, and Chris Jones. The 6-3, 292-pound defensive tackle pushes the pocket, netting four sacks in 10 games after putting up a goose egg in his first two seasons. He’s also stout against the run, plugging holes and allowing second-level players to make plays. Ojomo is the latest example of the Eagles filling a gap with the next man up and watching him soar.

Roob’s Eagles Observations: Eagles won’t keep winning if Jalen Hurts isn’t elite – NBCSP

9A. Moro Ojomo’s chances to make the Pro Bowl aren’t huge because he’s a former 7th-round pick, he’s not even a full-time starter, he’s playing in the shadow of Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis and he’s not widely known outside Philly. But, man, I’d vote for him. Ojomo is tied for third among NFC interior linemen with 4.0 sacks, Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the 5th-best interior lineman among 105 who’ve played at least 200 snaps, his 35 pressures are 3rd-most in the NFL among defensive tackles and he’s one of only four interior linemen that PFF ranks among the top 20 in both quarterback pressure and run defense. And he’s doing all this for a team that’s 8-2 and currently in the top spot in the NFC playoff rankings and coming off back-to-back national TV masterpieces over NFC North playoff hopefuls. That’s a Pro Bowl resume, right there.

How Eagles’ Moro Ojomo earned the nickname ‘Coach Mo’ through think power and pre-snap callouts in breakout season – PHLY

“That’s kind of the way the Eagles have gone, right?” Ojomo said. “Hargrave was gone and Milt stepped into that. Milt is gone and now I’m getting an opportunity.” What separates Ojomo, though, may be the eccentricities of an academic type and how it informs the way he plays. “Super smart dude,” Eagles linebacker Zack Baun said. “In the locker room, he’s always talking about finances, real estate, different financial opportunities.” After the Monday Night Football broadcast microphones caught Ojomo calling out an inside run by Packers running back Josh Jacobs in the final moments of the Eagles’ 10-7 win at Lambeau Field a few weeks ago, Baun may have been the only player Ojomo’s foresight didn’t impress. “It made me laugh, because, like, we all knew it was inside zone,” Baun said. “But for a D-Lineman to recognize a formation and a tendency that they have, that’s the good part.” There are elements of Ojomo’s intuition that have left Baun impressed, he explained. The defensive tackle will sometimes come to the All-Pro linebacker with notes from studying opposing offensive linemen to figure out the best way to execute certain pressure looks that allow them to work together. Hence the nickname: Coach Mo. “When I run games with him,” Baun said. “Like twist stunts and stuff, he’ll come up to me in the middle of the week and be like, ‘Hey, I saw this guy on film. He’s going to set really wide. So jab the guard and the pin the hip.’ So he’s just really well-studied.”

Eagles Opponent Film Room: Scouting the Dallas Cowboys’ defense – BGN

The Cowboys’ pass defense is still the most volatile and structurally fragile part of their team, and the film has been remarkably consistent about where the problems lie. They rely heavily on soft variants of Cover 2 and spot-drop zone, which creates large voids in the intermediate and deep areas.

Cowboys have put all the pieces in place to beat Eagles, earn 1st winning streak of season – Blogging The Boys

The Cowboys’ two “bad losses” this season to the Broncos and Cardinals in more decisive fashion being their most recent two have made it hard to fully buy back into this team even off a win, but they also have losses that were there for the taking at the Eagles and Panthers. The time to flip one of these types of games into a win has come against an opponent gaining confidence in their ability to win both low and high scoring games, but issues offensively a very new-look Cowboys defense can actually exploit.

Game Preview – PHI at DAL – Iggles Blitz

The Eagles won’t hold the Cowboys to single digits. Dallas is too good for that and is at home. Weather won’t be a factor. Prescott isn’t a runner, but his ability to move around and keep plays alive can be a major factor. I expect the Eagles to be solid against the run. I expect the pass rush to affect Prescott. I do think Pickens and Lamb will make some plays and that will lead to points. Tackling will be critical. Both Pickens and Lamb are good after the catch. The real question for me is what to expect from the Eagles offense. They scored 26 points over the past two weeks combined. They will likely need to score 26 points to win this game. Can they do that? Dallas is allowing 29.3 points per game over the course of the season. Even with all the changes they will be vulnerable. The Eagles have scored 24 or more points in five games this season. They are capable, but only if they play much better than the last two games.

How the Eagles navigated a drama-filled week, Jalen Carter vs. Cowboys after ejection – The Athletic

“I think we are (close to clicking),” Brown said. “I think that’s the mindset to have. It’s really just cleaning up those mistakes. It’s not about being close. It’s us finishing up drives. Defense has been incredible. And we’re just trying to do our part and that starts with things that take no talent, as Nick says all the time.” That’s also why there’s so much intrigue about the offense’s struggles — there’s evidence to suggest they can be better. Their two best games came before the bye week, when they had a pair of 100-yard receivers in a single game and a pair of 100-yard rushers in a single game, respectively. Then came these past two clunkers, and more curiosity about the reason for the decline. As Mailata said, the Eagles have been here before. There was unrest about the passing game last December. Then came a sterling performance — “So that’s what y’all wanted to see, huh?” Hurts asked following a win over Pittsburgh — and a run to the Super Bowl. The Eagles cannot control the drama that swirls around the team, but they can control the results. “The last two games before, it seemed like we figured everything out and everything was clicking,” Barkley said. “The last two games on offense, we didn’t play to the level of expectation we have. I don’t say too much changed … but you come to work every single day, continue to fall in love with the process, and you have to go out there and produce. That’s where we’re at right now. Tired of talking about it.”

NFL Week 12 predictions, fantasy sleepers, QB notes, bets – ESPN

Will the Cowboys be able to throw deep on the Eagles? Thirty-one percent of the Cowboys’ routes this season have been verticals — the highest rate in the league. It has been a key part of their successful passing attack, as the team is averaging 0.66 EPA when targeting vertical routes. (Filtering on downfield throws will often produce more extreme EPA results since usually a lot has gone right if a downfield target is occurring, but this is still a high number.) Unfortunately for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, their strength might not be ideal against the Eagles. Philly allows a league-low EPA per play when opponents target a vertical route on them (0.04).

Spadaro: 6 storylines to follow in Eagles at Cowboys – PE.com

Eagles offense in focus. This has been a season-long conversation as the Eagles look to get something going on a consistent basis offensively. Quarterback Jalen Hurts and Co. have done some good things on offense – namely scoring touchdowns 75 percent of the time in the red zone, best in the NFL, and protecting the football – Hurts has just three giveaways, with 22 total touchdowns scored – and that has helped the Eagles win 8 of their first 10 games. How do the Eagles attack the Cowboys? The addition of Williams, teamed with tackle Kenny Clark, has given Dallas a formidable twosome inside against the run. The Cowboys are aggressive in coverage, and they will go after Hurts with the blitz game. This is a chess match worth watching, of course, and the Eagles are looking for explosive plays, a reliable running game, and some touchdowns because …

‘Jesus was hated too’: Eagles teammates defend Jalen Hurts against criticism – NJ.com

Hurts said Wednesday he’s not surprised by the criticism and won’t run away from it. But his teammates aren’t buying the backlash. “You’re not going to be liked by everybody,” Eagles cornerback Adoree’ Jackson told NJ Advance Media about the Hurts’ reports. “Jesus was hated too. You have to understand that you have to have thick skin, especially to be in this profession over here. … It just so happened that you are Jalen Hurts, the franchise quarterback of this organization. So it’s blown out of proportion. So I don’t think anything of it.” Before passionately sharing his stance, Jackson noted that he admires how Hurts rebounded from losing his starting job at Alabama and went on to build a successful NFL career.

LANE JOHNSON’S SEASON OF STRONG MENTAL HEALTH: Let’s Stop Suicide – Together – The Philadelphia Citizen

Hey, y’all. As we head to Dallas to play the Cowboys this weekend, there are a few things I want to get off my chest. First: I want to thank you for your outpouring of support for me after my injury last week. In my column next week, I’ll tell you all about how I’m getting stronger every day, and how determined I am to come back soon, better than ever. But before that, there’s something heavy on my heart that I want to share with you. I know Birds’ fans love to hate on Dallas – I get it. But off the field, those guys are just humans like the rest of us. And I was absolutely devastated when I heard that the Cowboys’ defensive end, Marshawn Kneeland, died by suicide on November 6. I can only imagine how Marshawn’s family and teammates are feeling. Any time someone dies by suicide, it makes me realize how much more work we all have to do to stop this from happening. That’s why I want to tell you about the work the Cowboys’ defensive tackle Solomon Thomas (who has trained at the Bro Barn, my at-home training center) is doing through his nonprofit, The Defensive Line.

Cowboys waive CB Kaiir Elam, sign RB Malik Davis – PFT

Elam appeared in 10 games and made seven starts for the Cowboys. He had 29 tackles and one pass defensed during his time in Dallas. Davis was signed off of the team’s practice squad. He has appeared in four games for the Cowboys, including the last three contests. He has seven carries for 26 yards on the season.

Dan Quinn is trying to walk a tightrope of developing young Commanders players while winning as many games as possible – Hogs Haven

It sounds like Dan Quinn is going to work towards giving Washington fans what most of them want — a chance for core players to develop — while still trying to win games. For six more weeks, we’ll get to see how successfully he can walk that tightrope.

Big Blue View mailbag: NFL Week 12 New York Giants questions, answers – Big Blue View

This is the conundrum. To blow all of these leads, you have to be good enough to get those leads. So, is it players or is it coaching? Giants’ ownership made it clear they believe the team as currently constructed should be better than it is. I 100% agree with that. Several of the losses this season would have been victories if players had been put into better positions. Now, Schoen is not above reproach. We’ve been over his mistakes too many times to count. In Sunday’s loss, Cor’Dale Flott, Deonte Banks, and Jalin Hyatt all failed to make critical plays. Those are all Schoen draft picks. A fourth Schoen draft pick, Abdul Carter, was disciplined for missing a practice and then did nothing when he did play. That game was not about coaching mistakes or the players who were missing. That game was about the players on the field not making plays that were there to be made, and probably should have been made.

Is the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynasty of dominance over? – SB Nation

Are we witnessing the end of the Chiefs dynasty? RJ: This is like the bad guys in scary movies. I am not going to believe it is over for the Chiefs until it is officially over for the Chiefs. We have seen them do things that were unprecedented and until they aren’t at home for an AFC Championship Game in the Patrick Mahomes era they have all benefit of the doubt. Things are getting tense, though! Kansas City is digging a hole that might be too deep for even them to climb out of. In some ways they may be victims of their own success as reports were that the Broncos viewed this as the biggest game in Denver for them since the 2015 AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs are at the center of everyone’s list and they may finally be showing the effects of that.
