The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for Myles Hinton to return from injured reserve, according to an official team announcement.
Hinton was previously placed on IR in late August. The Eagles used one of their two designated for return IR slots that they can use prior to roster cuts down to 53 players so that 1) they didn’t have to expose him to waivers and 2) he could still be eligible to play this season.
Much to the apparent delight of offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, the Eagles selected Hinton with a sixth-round pick (No. 191 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft. For what it’s worth, Hinton ranked 76th out of 114 offensive tackles graded by Pro Football Focus in the preseason.
The Eagles ideally don’t want Hinton to have to play this season. But with Lane Johnson potentially set to go on IR, the Birds could use some more offensive tackle depth. And that’s what the rookie Hinton is expected to provide if/when he’s activated to the roster.
