The Eagles had four starting offensive lineman show up on the injury report, including Lane Johnson. Despite being healthy enough to play in Philadelphia’s Sunday night game, Johnson didn’t make it a full quarter against the Lions before heading to the locker room with a foot injury.
Soon after he slowly made his way inside — under his own power — the Eagles listed him as questionable to return. Coming out of halftime, the team officially downgraded Johnson to out for the remainder of the game.
For the second week in a row Fred Johnson stepped in for Lane at right tackle. Last week against the Packers, Lane did end up returning at the end of the game, but that wasn’t an option against the Lions. Hopefully the foot injury isn’t something that will linger long term.
The Eagles are definitely going to need one of the best tackles in the league as they head down the final stretch of the season and into the playoffs, so now is probably the best time to get him as healthy as possible.
