The eleventh Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!
Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 11 games.
HUNT FOR THE NO. 1 SEED
Here’s a look at the current NFC playoff picture, via ESPN:
DETROIT LIONS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles currently control their path to a first-round bye. Of course, it’s not realistic to expect them to win out. But beating the Lions is certainly on the table and doing so would give the Birds a very valuable head-to-head tiebreaker over Detroit. Go Birds.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: My old BGN Radio co-host Jimmy Kempski made a case for the Eagles to root for the Rams. It’s a good argument but I’m of the mind that the Rams are ultimately the top threat to Philly in the NFC and it’s best for them to lose. Root for the Seahawks.
MORE NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE INTERESTS
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at MIAMI DOLPHINS (Madrid game): The Commanders are already looking pretty dead at 3-7 but the Eagles wouldn’t mind another nail in their coffin. The Eagles don’t want Washington to have anything to play for by the time they face them in Week 16 and Week 18. Root for the Dolphins.
CAROLINA PANTHERS at ATLANTA FALCONS: The Panthers somehow winning the NFC South would be preferable to the Bucs winning it. Root for the Panthers.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at BUFFALO BILLS: The Bucs losing this game gives the Panthers a better chance of improbably winning the NFC South. Root for the Bills.
CHICAGO BEARS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Bears could improbably win the NFC North. Or at least make the playoffs as a wild card team. The Vikings might have a lower floor but they’ve also demonstrated a higher ceiling this season. Root for the Bears.
GREEN BAY PACKERS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Giants winning at this point only serves as a false positive. Also, the Packers losing is preferable since it could lead to lesser teams making the playoffs over them. Root for the Giants.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: The 49ers improbably winning the NFC West would be preferable to the Seahawks or Rams winning it instead. The Eagles are also rooting for Bryce Huff to get to eight sacks so that Philly will receive a 2026 fourth-round pick from San Francisco instead of a 2026 fifth-round pick. Root for the 49ers.
DALLAS COWBOYS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: The magic number for the Eagles to win the NFC East is five. With an Eagles win on Sunday and a Cowboys loss on Monday night, that number goes down to three. Would be nice to see the Birds officially wrap up their division ASAP. Root for the Raiders.
DRAFT PICK CONSIDERATIONS
Here’s the current 2026 NFL Draft order for non-playoff teams, via Tankathon:
NEW YORK JETS defeated by NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. So, the Eagles are glad that the Jets lost to the Pats on Thursday night.
CINCINNATI BENGALS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: The Bengals are likely to finish with a better record than the Jets, especially since Joe Burrow could return. A win here only helps to prevent Cincy from moving ahead of NYJ in the draft order. Root for the Bengals.
HOUSTON TEXANS at TENNESSEE TITANS: Rooting for the Titans seems pretty futile but it would be ideal to see the Jets move ahead of them in the draft order. Root for the Titans.
BALTIMORE RAVENS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: The Browns have a chance to move ahead of the Jets in the draft order with more losses. Root for the Ravens.
WHAT’S LEFT
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Eagles play the Chargers in Week 14. If the Birds beat the Bolts, they stand to benefit from LA being good as possible to help improve Philly’s strength of victory tiebreaker. Root for the Chargers.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Eagles beat the Chiefs earlier this season. Every KC win works towards improving Philly’s strength of victory tiebreaker. Root for the Chiefs.
