They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings now trail the Chicago Bears by a score of 10-3.
The Bears were forced to punt the ball away on the second play of the quarter, and they were called on for fair catch interference against Myles Price to give the Vikings slightly better field position. Unfortunately, the Vikings didn’t really do anything with that field position, as they went three-and-out and gave the ball right back to Chicago.
Chicago then put together a very impressive drive, moving 75 yards in 15 plays and just basically doing whatever they want against the Minnesota defense. The drive concluded with a 2-yard touchdown run from Kyle Monangai to put the Bears up, 7-3, with just under five minutes left in the half.
The Vikings then had the standard issue game-changing turnover, as J.J. McCarthy was hit as he threw a pass for Jefferson and was intercepted by Kevin Byard in Vikings territory. The Vikings’ defense made Chicago settle for a 38-yard field goal attempt from Cairo Santos, which he connected on to make it 10-3. The Vikings then got down into scoring range, but the interception bug hit McCarthy again, this time getting picked off by Nahshon Wright in the end zone on a deep attempt for Jordan Addison.
Chicago will get the ball coming out of the locker room at halftime, holding a 10-3 lead over the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. Come on in and join us for the third quarter of play!
