Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
NFL Week 11 latest buzz, questions, news and fantasy tips – ESPN
Jaelan Phillips’ free agency has my attention. He was knocking on the door of becoming a top-10 pass rusher in the NFL before injuries hit. But now he’s rounding into form and looks rejuvenated by the trade that sent him to Philadelphia, recording 6 tackles (1 for loss), 2 quarterback hits and a fumble recovery Monday night in Green Bay. If Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio can help maximize Phillips, a massive payday might be waiting, in Philadelphia or elsewhere. This puts the Eagles in position to earn a strong compensatory pick for Phillips if he leaves.
Jaelan Phillips says Eagles-Packers game was “surreal” – BGN
The Eagles had their newest edge rusher on the field and busy just a week after being traded to Philadelphia, and Jaelan Phillips spoke to reporters after his debut about the significance of the moment. He noted how Monday’s game was surreal, explaining the feeling of being with a new team and on a new path, with a new destiny, and for the game to play out like it did, he was feeling overwhelming gratitude. Phillips said that he studied the playbook during the week, and it’s important that he’s able to play loose and free, and to be emotionally invested in the game, which he was able to do against Green Bay.
How the Giants Should Approach Their Head Coach Search – SI
As for the Eagles, it was hard to miss Jaelan Phillips’s impact on Monday night. And I’ll say it again: GM Howie Roseman’s genius wasn’t flipping a third-round draft pick for him. It was having three third-rounders, which gave him the flexibility to surround that capital for a rental. How’d he get the other two? One will come as a result of losing Milton Williams, who the Eagles drafted and developed at a position where they had the depth of homegrown talent (Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis) to let a guy of his caliber go. The other came from the 2024 trade of Haason Reddick, with Roseman taking a pick that was two years off. You can do these things when you have a stable, well-run organization devoid of people making short-sighted calls based on job security.
NFL playoff picture: Who are the contenders and pretenders? – SB Nation
Eagles — Contender. At some point, we might just have to accept that this is the recipe in Philadelphia. The offense at times looks disjointed. A.J. Brown continues to post cryptic messages on social media. Nick Sirianni makes some head-scratching decisions. Howie Roseman works the phones in the background, and as we start to wonder if the Eagles have another run in them, they keep winning. Rinse and repeat.
Bowen: Just like last year, Nick Sirianni’s Eagles emerged from the bye looking inoffensive – PHLY
But, deep breath, focus. Let’s remember that as furious as everyone was after that Cleveland game last season, it started a 10-game winning streak. The problems were indeed getting worked out, that just wasn’t immediately evident out of the bye. This year’s bye came farther into the season, patience might justifiably be thinner, but Monday night, we saw newcomer Jaelan Phillips transform the edge rush, and Nolan Smith notch a sack in his return from injury. It seems quite possible that Vic Fangio can get the defense back to last season’s Super Bowl level. The problem with the offense seems to be a little bit injuries and penalties along the offensive line, and a lot the playcalling. But there are smart people down at NovaCare who are watching this and seeing exactly what you see. Patullo will either figure it out, or some sort of change, probably more subtle than dramatic, will ensue. This offense is too talented to sputter and stumble around all season. For all the frustration they engender, the Eagles are the top seed in the NFC heading into Sunday night at the Linc against Detroit. They are quite capable of getting back to the Super Bowl. And of driving us crazy along the way.
NFC Hierarchy/Obituary: Week 11 edition – PhillyVoice
3) Eagles (7-2): The Eagles beat a good team on the road, their third straight win, retaining their spot as the 1 seed in the NFC if the season ended today (it doesn’t). They’re also the reigning champs, proven winners in the playoffs, and loaded with star players. There are plenty of reasons to believe that the Eagles can represent the NFC in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years. And yet, we’re moving them down two spots behind the Seahawks and Rams, who both just look better at the moment. Like, that’s kind of inarguable, right? Right now, those teams are more complete? Yeah? We can admit that, right? OK, cool, moving on…
Alexander Update – Iggles Blitz
Smart move by Micah Parsons to trip him. If they call it, you only give up 15 yards. The refs didn’t call it so GB got lucky. That run would have put Barkley above 100 yards for the game. Too bad. This is a reminder how special last year was. All those long runs were great, but not normal. It takes a lot to go right to get one of those. It makes me happy that Barkley had such a magical season at the same time as the team. All the more fun to celebrate Barkley’s greatness while also celebrating a great season and Super Bowl win.
Week 10 DVOA Ratings: Rising Rams Set Up DVOA Bowl with Seahawks – FTN Fantasy
Detroit and Kansas City stay in the fourth and fifth spots this week. Green Bay actually moves up a spot to No. 6 because of other teams dropping, namely the Buffalo Bills who are down from sixth to 11th. The Philadelphia Eagles climbed to seventh after their Monday night win against the Packers.
NFL offensive line rankings ahead of Week 11 – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles (Down 1). Tyler Steen had a rough outing against the Packers, allowing five pressures. His 16.7% pressure rate allowed was the worst clip among all guards this week. Fred Johnson played a big role on Monday night, both as a sixth offensive lineman and as Lane Johnson’s injury replacement. Fred Johnson did not disappoint, as his 82.1 PFF overall grade ranked second among Philadelphia’s offensive linemen.
Best player: Jordan Mailata. Mailata’s 91.6 PFF run-blocking grade in Week 10 ranked second among all offensive linemen.
What on Earth was Nick Sirianni thinking in final seconds of Packers game? – NBCSP
The Eagles do have a knack for making big plays on fourth down. Hurts 41 yards to A.J. Brown for a touchdown in the first Giants win lst year. Hurts 41 yards to Smith in the second Giants game in 2022. Hurts to Brown for 37 yards against the Vikings Hurts to Smith for 34 yards against the Titans in 2022. But those were all plays in the first half that didn’t give the opposing team an opportunity to get back into the game if they failed. This was different, and the fact that the Eagles escaped with another win doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do. “We’ll look at it, but we’ve hit it before,” Sirianni said. “And this time we didn’t hit and the defense did a great job of ending the game without any points.”
Spadaro: The Eagles edge rushers show out in primetime – PE.com
Vic Fangio holds the cards. They come in various shapes, different powers, but put them all together and he has a winning hand. One that the Eagles are wagering could pay big, big dividends for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season. In this case, the cards are the players in Fangio’s defensive end/outside linebacker room. The EDGE guys. A position group that has a myriad of responsibilities – rushing the quarterback, setting the edge against the run, at times dropping into coverage, crashing down the line of scrimmage and – not to be ignored – playing heads up football against bootlegs and screens and passes in the flat to running backs and tight ends. It is a complicated position – actually two positions rolled into one given the multitude of defensive fronts the Eagles employ – and it is a force of strength for a team that tidied up the group in a matter of a couple of weeks. An EDGE group that had been hit by injuries and an early retirement earlier in the season now rolls out the kind of options and talent and depth that every team would like to have.
Less than a day after helping the Eagles secure a 10-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, Saquon Barkley found himself back on the field again in Philadelphia — just not in the way you’d expect. On Veterans Day, The Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation partnered with Ashley Furniture and the Salvation Army to host an event in Center City’s Phield House to deliver brand-new beds, mattresses, and bedding essentials to underserved children in the community. Barkley attended the event, alongside other members of his foundation. “This is what it’s all about,” Barkley told reporters. “My focus is trying to make an impact in my community, especially with the youth for academics and athletics, and the best way you can do that is by a good night’s rest.” The Eagles running back posed for photos and spoke with families, and even played football with the kids.
Dan Campbell: Philly fans throw batteries, spit on us, it’s a great place to play – PFT
Campbell told 97.1 The Ticket that he has fond memories of all the awful things Eagles fans did when he was on the road there during his playing career. “It’s a great place to play,” Campbell said. “It’s electric. Had batteries thrown at us, spit on, just the classic stuff. It’s probably the most hostile place to play. Going into the stadium, leaving it, during the game. Things have backed off a lot now since back in the day — some of these things you can’t do anymore.”
Washington’s Daron Payne was ejected Sunday for punching Amon-Ra St. Brown. Tuesday video now reveals that St. Brown was the aggressor the whole time! He was caught on the eye in the sky punching Payne right IN FRONT of a referee, and got nothing:
Detroit Lions Week 11 scouting report: Defending champs prepare for battle – Pride Of Detroit
Overall, the Eagles are still a strong team, but maybe they aren’t as scary as they used to be. The offense seems to have taken a step back, and while the defense isn’t perfect, it’s been a big reason for the team’s success this year. The defending champs aren’t pushovers, and this game won’t be a blowout, as I expect it to be another one-score game, but will it go in Detroit’s favor or Philadelphia’s?
Alex Singleton undergoes successful surgery for testicular cancer – Mile High Report
The Denver Broncos posted on X Monday afternoon that inside linebacker Alex Singleton had undergone surgery for testicular cancer last Friday, which had been diagnosed last week. The team reported Singleton is recovering well, and that it appears they caught the cancer early. Pending additional test results, doctors are optimistic the team captain can return to play this season. “Our No. 1 priority is Alex’s health and well-being,” the team posted.
Rams can’t stop adding tight ends – Turf Show Times
The Vikings drafted Nick Muse out of South Carolina in the 7th round of the 2022 draft. Muse had 805 yards in three seasons at South Carolina after transferring from William & Mary. At his pro day, Muse measured just under 6’5, 259 lbs, and ran a 4.71 40-yard dash with an impressive 27 reps on the bench. Muse split time between the practice squad and active roster for three seasons in Minnesota and even “won” a Super Bowl with the Eagles after signing to the Philadelphia practice squad literally weeks before the championship.
Packers Week 10 Winners and Losers vs. the Eagles – Acme Packing Company
I’m starting to think the Green Bay Packers may have a problem. After facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football and losing a 10-7 snoozefest, the Packers are now 5-3-1 and 3rd place in the NFC North behind the Detroit Lions and, wait for it: the Chicago Bears. With injuries abound in the pass-catching room, the Packers offense already had a tall task ahead of them. With some questionable play calling thrown into the mix, this was one awful offensive performance for Green Bay, as they went on to lose their second straight home game for the first time since 2018. Let’s dive into the horrors (and the good stuff! There was good stuff!)
Cowboys activate DeMarvion Overshown from PUP, Shavon Revel from NFI – Blogging The Boys
On Tuesday, DeMarvion Overshown was activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. At the same time, rookie Shavon Revel was activated from the non football injury (NFI) list. While that doesn’t necessarily guarantee either will suit up in Las Vegas, it does represent both players clearing massive hurdles in their path to the field. Overshown was having a breakout year last year for the Cowboys, rapidly rising to stardom. However, his season was cut short due to a gruesome knee injury that tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL. Initial timelines for Overshown were that he may not even play this year, but the athletic linebacker has progressed way ahead of schedule and could be making his season debut very soon. Revel, on the other hand, is looking for his NFL debut. Considered by many to be a first-round talent at the start of his final year with East Carolina, Revel tore his ACL in the third game of the season. The Cowboys ultimately landed him in the third round of this year’s draft, hoping to have found another steal if Revel can reclaim his elite form.
2026 NFL Draft: Early Names to Know for the Washington Commanders – Hogs Haven
At 3–7 through 10 weeks, the Commanders find themselves in familiar territory — searching for answers and building blocks for the future. And while there’s optimism around Jayden Daniels, elsewhere, the roster remains riddled with holes on both sides of the ball. The Commanders currently hold just six picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and if they want to accelerate their path back to relevancy, they’ll need to make every one of them count — or perhaps trade back to stockpile more capital. Adam Peters’ early draft classes have produced mixed results beyond Daniels, and this upcoming cycle offers another opportunity to lay the foundation for long-term success.
Jameis Winston to start for Giants vs. Packers if Jaxson Dart can’t – Big Blue View
The New York Giants are making a change at quarterback, starting Jameis Winston over Russell Wilson if Jaxson Dart does not clear the concussion protocol in time to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. The report, first by Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News and quickly confirmed by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN. This is the first change of the Mike Kafka Era following the firing of Brian Daboll, who had favored the less-erratic Russell Wilson at quarterback. However, Wilson has looked very skittish in his recent appearances, looking unsure of his reads and trying to avoid mistakes rather than make plays. A desire to “not lose” and keep games “respectable” (to use Ed’s word) defined the end of Daboll’s tenure.
Brian Daboll Crashed Out. Now Can the Giants Cash In? – The Ringer
Interim head coach Mike Kafka will get the first crack at this, and he should be taken seriously as a candidate if Dart flourishes under him the rest of the year. Seattle offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak deserves an interview after what he has done with the Seahawks this year, and Washington offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury certainly warrants at least an interview after overseeing Jayden Daniels’s success. Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who served the same role for the Giants during their 2007 Super Bowl run, is a worthy candidate if New York cannot land one of their preferred offensive coaches. Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who just pantsed Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, is also surely to be a name floated. The Giants could even potentially trade draft picks to Denver for head coach Sean Payton if Payton’s relationship with the Broncos sours. The only good news from this Daboll tenure is that he left the Giants with Dart—in which case, he may have ultimately done the franchise more good than harm. Daboll crashed out. Now New York must cash in.
