Well, I guess getting rid of the locker room Pop-A-Shot was the right call!
On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins shocked the football watching world — defeating their AFC East division rivals, the Buffalo Bills, in dominating fashion by a score of 30-13.
Miami’s offense trampled Buffalo’s defense. The Dolphins defense smothered the Bills’ offense. It was a wet and wild affair that went the way of the guys in aqua and orange in nearly every single facet of the game en route to the type of drubbing that normally the folks from Western New York enjoy when these two teams clash.
Not this Sunday.
No, this win does not mean Miami’s season is back on track. They’d likely have to run the table and win their final seven games in a row for them to have a shot at the postseason. Yet still, a win against the Bills is rare these days, with Buffalo winning the last seven times these two teams have met. So, enjoy it, Dolphins fans. Worry about draft positioning later. In a season where Miami has given us little reason to cheer, Sunday’s victory reminded us all why we fell in love with this team in the first place.
GOOD
Dolphins outgain Bills on the ground by over 100 yards
Lately, when Miami has committed to running the ball, good things have happened. Sunday provided more evidence to that idea as the Dolphins rushed the ball 32 times for 197 yards — good for 6.2 yards per carry. Electric running back, De’Von Achane, dashed for 174 yards on 22 attempts (7.9 yards per carry) and two long scoring scampers.
Conversely, the Bills couldn’t muster much on the ground against Miami’s suddenly stout rushing defense. Buffalo ran the ball 22 times for 87 yards — just under 4.0 yards per carry. Star back, James Cook, totaled just 53 yards on 13 attempts. In his previous two games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers, Cook had a combined 330 yards on the ground while adding two scores, so Miami’s ability to contain such a quality player is equal parts commendable and surprising.
GREAT
Dolphins force three turnovers against Bills
The Miami Dolphins defense had their working boots on against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. On Sunday, defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver’s bunch forced three turnovers, which combined with Miami’s offensive outburst, propelled the Dolphins to victory.
First, cornerback Jack Jones forced a James Cook fumble with a punch out early in the game when the Bills were driving. Next, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu intercepted Allen in the endzone on a 3rd and goal play after a long drive by Buffalo in the third quarter. Finally, Josh Allen took a quarterback sneak through the teeth of the defense midway through the fourth quarter, but while fighting for more yardage, had the ball stripped from his grasp by linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Miami recovered for their third takeaway on the day.
Winning the turnover battle always goes a long way towards earning a victory, and on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, that’s exactly what the Dolphins did.
BAD
Tua Tagovailoa leads NFL in interceptions following two more thrown on Sunday
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has thrown an unlucky 13 interceptions through 10 games of the 2025 NFL season after tossing two against the Bills on Sunday — both on deep heaves downfield. Head coach Mike McDaniel said after the game that he was “pumped” that Tagovailoa’s giveaways effectively served as punts for Miami, yet still, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Dolphins quarterback now leads the league in interceptions thrown.
After tossing two more interceptions on Sunday, Tagovailoa has surged past Las Vegas Raiders passer Geno Smith who has 12 so far this season.
In 2023, Tagovailoa threw the ball 560 times, yet only had 14 interceptions all season. That number is his current high mark for interceptions thrown in a single season since he was drafted by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2025, he has only attempted 292 passes, yet is just one behind his career high in passes picked off by opponents. This season, Tagovailoa has thrown an interception on 4.5% of his pass attempts, smashing his previous high mark of 2.6% which took place in 2021 — just his second year in the NFL.
In a down year for Tagovailoa, his high propensity for turnovers is something that is cause for great alarm regarding his prospective future with Miami.

The Dolphins caught the Bills slacking on Sunday — defeating their divisional rivals by a score of 30-13, bringing their record to 3-7 in the process. Do you think the Bills overlooked Miami in this one? Do you give the team any chance of rattling off a few more wins in a row — especially with some “lesser” opponents on the schedule over the next couple of weeks?
