Just ahead of their Sunday afternoon battle with the Baltimore Ravens at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings have made a couple of roster moves. Let’s fill you in on those now.
The first move was placing cornerback Jeff Okudah on injured reserve, which means he will miss the next four games at a minimum. Okudah suffered a concussion in the Week 8 game in Los Angeles, and even after missing last weekend’s game in Detroit, he’s still not symptom-free, so the Vikings have made this move.
To replace him on the active roster, the Vikings have signed cornerback Fabian Moreau to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Moreau, who spent part of last season with the Vikings, has been on the practice squad since the end of training camp and had been elevated to the active roster twice, including last week’s game in Detroit.
The Vikings have also elevated running back Corey Kiner from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. Kiner, whom the Vikings signed to the practice squad in late September, will be on an active NFL roster for the first time this week. The Vikings have Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason, Zavier Scott, and Ty Chandler on the big squad already, but with Jones dealing with a shoulder injury, the elevation of Kiner gives them a bit more depth.
(I crossed Ty Chandler off there because I totally forgot that he’s on IR at the present time. My apologies for the error.)
The roster for Sunday is now set, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll bring you a few more stories on this one as we get closer to kickoff at noon on Sunday.
