New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart left the field at the end of the third quarter against the Chicago Bears. The Giants inserted Russell Wilson at quarterback while Dart was in the blue medical tent being evaluated for a concussion. Dart soon left the field and was escorted into the locker room.
Dart has flirted with a concussion throughout his time as the Giants’ starter. This time Dart appeared to suffer the injury on the play in which he fumbled the ball late in the third quarter.
Dart had been having an excellent game in difficult conditions at Soldier Field. Dart was accurate to all areas of the field despite gusty winds, and executed extremely well despite playing under center more than he ever has at any level.
Dart was 19 of 29 for 242 yards passing and had 66 yards rushing with two touchdowns on six carries.
Losing Dart would be a significant blow to an already-depleted Giants’ offense, and we’ll be monitoring Dart’s status closely.
The Giants will return home face the Detroit Lions next week before traveling to face Green Bay Packers over the next two weeks.
