They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the Minnesota Vikings are still holding on to the lead against the Baltimore Ravens, 10-9.
The second quarter started with a punt from the Ravens after another three-and-out from the Minnesota defense. The Vikings marched themselves into Baltimore territory, but the offense stalled and they called on Will Reichard for a 49-yard field goal attempt. He put the ball between the uprights and the Vikings were once again up by seven at 10-3.
The Minnesota defense forced another three-and-out and took over at their own 16-yard line after the Baltimore punt. The Vikings looked to be on the move, but then J.J. McCarthy made his first real mistake of the day, trying to launch one deep for Justin Jefferson and getting intercepted by rookie Malaki Starks.
The Ravens got their run game going on their ensuing possession, with Derrick Henry and Keaton Mitchell both breaking off significant gains. Minnesota’s defense once again stood up in the red zone, stopping Derrick Henry on third down, and the Ravens brought on Tyler Loop again for a 28-yard field goal attempt, which he connected on to make it 10-6.
Minnesota got the ball back with a chance to double up, as they get the football coming out of halftime, but instead the offense engineered a very quick three-and-out. Baltimore got the ball back with 30 seconds remaining and two timeouts. The Vikings’ defense then decided to start giving up yardage in chunks through the air, and the Ravens got into position for a 30-yard field goal from Loop to make it 10-9 at the half.
The Vikings get the football coming out of the locker room at halftime, holding a 10-9 lead over the Baltimore Ravens at U.S. Bank Stadium. Come on in and join us for the third quarter of play from Minneapolis!
