The Las Vegas Raiders are entering their game at the Denver Broncos on Thursday night on a short week in solid health shape.
Just two starting players, defensive tackle Adam Butler and safety Isaiah Pola-Moa are listed as questionable. Both players practiced this week on a limited basis. Butler has a back issue whole Pola-Mao is working through hip pain.
Meanwhile, Coach Pete Carroll said he believes safety Lonnie Johnson will be active Thursday night. It will be the free-agent acquisition’s season and Raiders’ debut. He suffered a leg injury early in training camp. He was in his second off of this three-week window to come off the injure reserve. Baring another roster move, Johnson will likely fill the open spot on the 53-man roster that was freed with Jakobi Meyers’ trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday.
Johnson’s role will likely be as a special teamer and backup.
Meanwhile, reserve quarterback Aidan O’Connell remains in the 21-day window for coming off the injured reserve. The Raiders will have to either activated or shut down O’Connell after the Dallas game on November 17.
Also, Carroll said he expects rookie, fourth-round pick Dont’e Thornton will be active at Denver with Meyers being removed off the roster. Thornton was a healthy scratch in Week 9 for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Denver wide receiver Marvin Mims is out with a concussion.
