Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
2025 NFL midseason report: Questions and stats for each team – ESPN
Fantasy nugget: WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith’s fantasy production and rapport with Hurts are well-documented. Neither has been consistent this season, but Philadelphia has the third-easiest remaining schedule for fantasy wide receivers. Both are excellent trade targets for managers in need of a receiver.
The Eagles will have two 1,000-yard wide receivers — with A.J. Brown increasing production and DeVonta Smith setting a career-high. Before this season, this would not have been particularly bold. Through eight games, Brown is not on pace to hit this mark — his 395 receiving yards are the fewest through nine weeks in his career. He needs 605 yards during the final nine games to reach 1,000 yards, a obtainable mark Brown has topped from Week 10 through Week 17/18 in four of his six full seasons. His per-game averages from Week 10 until the end of the season in his career are 4.8 catches for 76 yards. Look for the Eagles to feature Brown, and if any uncertainty existed ahead of the trade deadline, that’s in the past now. The prediction here is that Brown will have 40 catches for 650 yards in the back stretch of the schedule. Unless he misses time (or the Eagles don’t play starters in Week 18), that would give Brown a per-game pace of 4.4 catches for 72.2 yards, both less than his career averages, so this is not a far-fetched prediction. That pace would place him just outside of the top 10 in yards per game to date this season. It’s reasonable to expect a top-five receiver to play like a top-10 receiver. As for Smith, he has the most receptions and yards of his career through eight games. He’s on pace for 94 catches and 1,250 yards. If he cannot sustain that pace, there’s enough wiggle room for Smith to still exceed 1,000 yards when accounting for potential regression. At 588 receiving yards, he needs 609 yards to exceed his career-high.
Biggest Eagles questions by position coming back from 2025 bye week – NBCSP
Wide receiver: Can the Eagles keep A.J. Brown happy? A.J. Brown missed the Eagles’ final game before the bye week with a hamstring injury and the offense had its best performance of the season. Some looked at that and thought the Eagles don’t need Brown to have an explosive offense. But the Eagles should look at that and think about how dangerous this offense could be when Brown is back. There has been plenty of drama swirling around the Eagles’ star receiver this season and plenty of cryptic social media posts fueling that drama and speculation about his unhappiness with his role and/or his relationship with Jalen Hurts. It’s all a bit tiring. But for the sake of the team, Eagles fans just have to hope that Brown and the Eagles are able to overcome this drama, keep him happy and keep winning games. Could DeVonta Smith be a really good No. 1 receiver? Yeah, absolutely. But the beauty of this offense is that the Eagles have two stud receivers. The franchise searched for years to find one of those guys. And now that they have two, they should desperately want to keep them together for as long as possible. That doesn’t mean Brown isn’t somewhat justified if he’s unhappy with how the Eagles are using him. In seven games this season, Brown has just 29 catches for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns. But he’s still one of the best receivers in the NFL and they’re going to need him.
Eagles at Packers in Week 10: Here are the numbers that matter – Inquirer
52.7%. DeVonta Smith is having an outstanding season with the Eagles, and he has been his usual, versatile inside-out presence in the passing offense. Of his 588 receiving yards, 219 have come while lined up in the slot, and according to Next Gen, 52.7% of the Eagles’ slot targets have gone Smith’s way. Why mention this ahead of Eagles-Packers? Another Green Bay injury. Cornerback Nate Hobbs is out with a knee injury. The Packers have liked using Hobbs as a situational nickel to spell normal nickel Javon Bullard in obvious passing situations. Bullard was exploited a few times in the passing game early in the season, but he has bounced back to put up better coverage numbers as the season has gone on. The Eagles, though, have the ability to test Bullard’s pass coverage chops with different looks. The Packers, with Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine, have also been pretty average covering out wide. According to Next Gen, Green Bay has allowed 930 yards to receivers aligned wide, the 11th-highest total in the NFL, and 7.8 yards per target. The Eagles’ running game got back on track in Week 8 against the New York Giants. This could be a day for the passing game to be featured.
What have we learned about the Eagles at the season midpoint? – BGN
If the playoffs started this week, which would be weird, the Eagles would be the #1 seed in the NFC. This is exactly where the team expected itself to be coming out of their bye. But what have we learned about the Eagles midway through the 2025 season?
NFC East Mixtape Vol. 175: Eagles Win BYE Week, Cowboys Fail Again – BGN YouTube
Week 9 was a prosperous one for only the Philadelphia Eagles as far as the NFC East is concerned and the most absurd part of it all is that they didn’t even play a game. The Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants all lost their respective games and it appears that this division is going to see a repeat winner for the first time in a very long while. Is that really the case? Or is this all making too much sense? RJ Ochoa and Brandon Lee Gowton discuss on the latest episode of the NFC East Mixtape!

Eagles Trades And Momentum (PST Episode 641) – Philadelphia Sports Table
The Philadelphia Eagles, once again, have made trades that could provide this team tremendous upside as they come off their bye week. This team has momentum after a great win against the Giants just a couple weeks ago. How will the trades work out, and are they the key puzzle pieces this team needs? This week, Brandon Lee Gowton from BleedingGreenNation.com joined us to dive into these trades and the momentum this team has during the second part of this season.
NFL Week 10 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch and betting spreads – PFF
Matchup to watch: Eagles T Jordan Mailata vs. Packers EDGE Micah Parsons. The excellent Week 10 battle will be headlined by the war in the trenches between two of the best players in the NFL, Eagles tackle Jordan Mailata (80.2 grade; 9th) and Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons (92.0 grade; 2nd). Mailata has yielded just 16 pressures and one sack in eight games, registering a 77.1 PFF pass-blocking grade (15th). Meanwhile, Parsons has 43 pressures (5th) and seven sacks (8th) on the season, and is once again a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
Asante Samuel Jr. to visit Packers, 2 others – Acme Packing Company
Samuel is coming off a spine fusion, which is why he has yet to sign with a team. He was only recently cleared for football. Prior to his procedure becoming public, he was considered one of the top free agents at the start of the 2025 free agency period. Notably, the Packers are out cornerback Nate Hobbs for the next several weeks due to an MCL sprain. Behind Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are two players on the 53-man roster, Bo Melton and Kamal Hadden, who have never played a single snap of regular-season defensive football in their NFL careers. To say the least, Green Bay is thin at the position.
Cowboys vs. Cardinals Stock Report: Cowboys franchise seems to reach new low – Blogging The Boys
Stock Down: Dak Prescott. This was not a good game from Dak Prescott. That is stating the obvious. He certainly seemed to give things his best effort and was on the move thanks to an offensive line that was getting beat, but he is in a position where he has to find a way. That is the request. Things were looking great for Prescott prior to the Denver game. Unfortunately he has had his worst two-game stretch in some time.
Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland dies at 24 – PFT
Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has died. He was 24. […] Kneeland was the fifth-sixth overall pick in the 2024 draft. A Michigan native, Kneeland played college football at Western Michigan from 2019 through 2023. He appeared in 11 games as a rookie and seven in 2025, with three starts. [BLG Note: Horrible news to hear.]
Where do the Washington Commanders go from here? – Hogs Haven
The biggest concern for the roster going forward is the regression of the 2024 draft class, but given their performances in year one, it seems reasonable those selections may still provide value going forward. The returns on the 2025 draft class are yet to be determined, but Trey Amos appears to be a building block going forward and most knew Josh Conerly was a developmental project when he was drafted. There will be a lot of questions going into Jayden Daniels third season, but Adam Peters and Dan Quinn have a chance to answer some of them this season and properly build the roster and coaching staff around their franchise quarterback based on the answers.
Yes, the New York Giants have an accountability problem; This is how we got here – Big Blue View
In my Tuesday piece discussing potential replacements for head coach Brian Daboll, I wrote that the Giants “have an accountability problem.” Accountability on a football team, for both the players and the coaching staff, comes directly from the reactions by the head coach to a variety of occurrences. In thinking about having put that out into the ether, I realized I never explained why I think there is an accountability problem with the Giants. I never gave examples, nor did I offer ways I believe certain situations should have been handled. Let’s correct that now.
NFL mock draft 2026: Updated projection after trade deadline – SB Nation
The NFL trade deadline shocked the sports world on Tuesday. Now it is time to pick up the pieces and move forward. The New York Jets traded two of their defensive stars, waiving the white flag on the 2025 season and turning their attention to the future. How might that impact what we see next spring in the 2026 NFL Draft? Let’s answer that question and more with a mock draft. Regarding the draft order, this mock draft uses the current draft order based on NFL standings as outlined by Tankathon. The eventual draft order next spring may look a lot different. Here are the picks, followed with some big-picture thoughts as well as a few quick takeaways on some favorite pairings and players.
