The Las Vegas Raiders are hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Here is everything to need to know about the game:

First quarter

The Jaguars got the ball at their 40 but couldn’t get a first down and were forced to punt to open the game.

Ashton Jeanty had some nice runs, but the Raiders’ opening drive stalled and they were forced to punt.

The Jaguars went on a long drive, 17-play drive and were helped by several missed tackles by the Raiders. But Trevor Lawrence threw a terrible interception to safety Isaiah Pola-Mao in the end zone on a short play to save the Raiders.

0-0 at end of the quarter. The Raiders have been held scoreless for five quarters.

Second quarter:

The Raiders committed their fifth penalty of the game already. A Raiders drive stalled as they went for it on fourth down and couldn’t convert. They had three games to get two yards and couldn’t. Wow.

The Raiders went on a long drive that ended with a short touchdown pass from Geno Smith to Brock Bowers with 35 seconds to go to give Las Vegas a 6-0 lead (the extra point was no good) and ended a six-quarter scoring drought. The Raiders get the ball to start the second half.

The Jaguars’ Cam Little set an NFL record with a 68-yard field goal to end first half.

Raiders 6, Jaguars 3 at halftime.

Third quarter:

The Raiders got the ball to open the half, but Geno Smith threw another dumb interception, his 11th of the season. It’s tied for the most in the league. He has eight interceptions in four home games.

The Jaguars turned the short field into a field goal to tie the game at 6-6.

Raheem Mostert returned the kickoff 54 yards to give the Raiders great field position. Then, a 15-yard penalty on Jacksonville put the Raiders at the Jags’ 15.

Smith to Bowers to the 1. Dylan Parham is down.

The Raiders had a first and goal from the 1 and had to settle for a field goal. They lead 9-6.

The Jaguars convert on fourth down to the Raiders 7 on the final play of the quarter. Jacksonville is 7 of 12 on third down and 2 for 2 on fourth down. The Jaguars have the ball for 29:03 of the game.

Fourth quarter:

Lawrence scores on a 7-yard run, 13-9 Jaguars with 14:50 t0 go.

The Raiders had an impressive response as they went down the field and took the lead on a touchdown pass from Smith to Jeanty who made some nifty moves. Raiders 16, Jaguars 13 with 9:38 to go.

After a Maxx Crosby sack, the Jaguars hit a 34-yard pass play from Lawrence to Brian Thomas on third and 11. Then, Raiders’ linebacker Devin White was flagged for a 15-yard penalty, setting up a short Jacksonville touchdown. The Jaguars lead 20-16 with 4:06 to go.

Wow, 27-yard touchdown pass to Brock Bowers from Smith. Raiders 23, Jaguars 20, with 1:48 to go.

But the Jaguars cruised down the field and tied the game on a 48-yard field goal at 23-23 with eight seconds to go.

Smith was 9 for 9 for 108 yards in the fourth quarter.

Overtime:

The Jaguars won the coin toss, took the ball and went down the field and scored on fourth and goal on a short run by Lawrence. Jaguars lead 30-23 with 3:24. Raiders must score a touchdown.

Mostert returned the kickoff 52 yards. Raiders are in business.

The Jaguars were called for pass interference. The Raiders have first and goal.

Bowers scores his third touchdown of the game. They’re going for two to win the game. The two-point conversion was batted. Raiders lose.

Final score:

Jaguars 30, Raiders 29.

Now that the game is over, let’s take a look at the key aspects:

Team records: The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-6. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 5-3.

What the win/loss means for the Raiders:

The Raiders are 2-6 and have just one home win this season. They are 11-23 in exactly two seasons since Josh McDaniels was fired as head coach.

Turning point of the game:

The batted pass in overtime, of course. This was a wild game.

Injury report:

Guard Dylan Parham went down in the third quarter. He was replaced by Will Putnam. Parham returned to the game.

What’s next for the Raiders:

The Raiders are on a short week as they will play at the 7-2 Denver Broncos on Thursday night. Kickoff is at 5:15 p.m. PT.
