Giants-49ers numbers that matter: Where can New York find advantages?

With the New York Giants facing the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, here are some of the numbers that matter heading into the 1 p.m. ET matchup.

From NextGenStats

  • Christian McCaffrey has accounted for 48.2% of the 49ers scrimmage touches this season. That is the highest percentage by any player in the NFL in 2025 and most by a player since Josh Jacobs (49.9) and Derrick Henry (49.5) in 2022.
  • San Francisco left tackle Trent Williams has allowed 36 pressures across his 320 pass blocking snaps for an 11.3% pressure rate, the 10th-highest among left tackles this season (min. 100 pass blocks) and his highest in a season since at least 2018. He has not previously allowed a pressure rate above 8.4% in any season as a member of the 49ers. Williams is expected to face a rotation of Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter, all of whom have lined up on the right edge on between 32% and 46% of their snaps. All three edge rushers have recorded 25 or more pressures this season, making them the only edge rush teammate trio in the league to reach that mark.
  • Jaxson Dart has completed 67.8% of his passes for 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a 101.4 passer rating when not pressured. However, when pressured, he has only completed 46.2% of his passes for 4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, and a 72.4 passer rating. The 49ers have pressured opposing quarterbacks on only 25.9% of dropbacks, the lowest rate in the NFL.
  • Abdul Carter has generated 33 pressures and 19 quick pressures (under 2.5 seconds) across his 232 pass rushes, with both pressure totals leading the Giants as well as all NFL rookies. His 8.2% quick pressure rate is the 5th-highest by any defender with at least 100 pass rushes. In Week 8, Carter played 82.5% of the Giants’ defensive snaps, his highest snap share of the season. He exceeded the snap shares

More numbers

  • So much for lack of respect. Among Among NFL players who have played at least 75 defensive snaps this season, Dexter Lawrence has been double-teamed a league-leading 60% of the time.
  • Lawrence needs one quarterback hit to become the third Giant to compile at least 100 quarterback hits since that became a stat in 2006. Justin Tuck had 120 and Jason Pierre-Paul 109.
  • The 49ers are 4-1 in close games. The Giants are 1-2.
  • The 49ers have committed 48 penalties, ninth-fewest in the NFL. The Giants have committed 64, 27th.
  • The Giants are 2-1 at MetLife Stadium this season, 0-5 on the road.
  • Jaxson Dart’s 12 combined touchdowns (eight passing, four rushing) is the most ever by a Giants quarterback in his first five starts. That stat dates back to 1950. Daniel Jones and Phil Simms are tied for second with eight.
  • Wan’Dale Robinson is fifth in the NFL in yards after catch (223), fourth in most receptions of 25 or more yards (seven) and leads the league in third-down receptions (34).
  • Brian Burns is tied with Myles Garrett for the league lead in sacks with 10. Burns has 13 tackles for loss, second behind Garrett with 15.
  • Burns is one of only eight players in NFL history to record at least 7.5 sacks in each of his first seven seasons.
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux (55) has more quarterback hits than any Giant in his first 50 games played. Again, this stat has only been kept since 2006.
