The ninth Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!
Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 9 games.
EAGLES GAME
The Eagles are resting on their bye week before returning to play the Green Bay Packers on Monday night in Week 10.
NFC EAST
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Niners are worse than the Rams and Seahawks. Them winning the NFC West would be preferable. Also, the Giants are probably already dead at 2-6, but one more nail in the coffin just to be safe doesn’t hurt. Root for the 49ers.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: In the battle of two Washington football teams, the Eagles obviously want to see the 3-5 Commanders lose and fall further behind in the division standings. Especially since the Eagles will probably want to see the Commanders beat the Lions in Week 10. Root for the Seahawks.
ARIZONA CARDINALS at DALLAS COWBOYS: The 3-4-1 Cowboys are currently second in the division behind the 6-2 Eagles. Best to see Dallas fall further behind. Root for the Cardinals.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
CHICAGO BEARS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Bears probably won’t win the NFC North but them doing so sure would be preferable to the Lions winning it instead. Also, the Bengals losing could make Cincy more motivated to sell ahead of the NFL trade deadline, in case the Eagles are interested in any of their players. Root for the Bears.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at DETROIT LIONS: The Lions are clearly the bigger threat to the Eagles in the NFC. Also, Minnesota winning works towards improving the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker. Root for the Vikings.
CAROLINA PANTHERS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The Packers are clearly the bigger threat to the Eagles in the NFC; Green Bay is currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture. The Birds need them to lose more games. Root for the Panthers.
ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: The Eagles would like to see a non-Bucs team win the NFC South. Atlanta probably isn’t good enough to win their division but they have a chance to avoid falling out of the mix with a win here. Root for the Falcons.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Rams are a threat to the Eagles getting the No. 1 seed. Would be preferable to see them not win the NFC West. Root for the Saints.
DRAFT PICK WATCH
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at TENNESSEE TITANS: The Eagles potentially stand to benefit from the Chargers winning here if Philly can beat LA later this season. That scenario would help to improve Philly’s strength of victory tiebreaker. But the Eagles want to get the highest possible third-round pick from the New York Jets (via the Haason Reddick trade). And the Titans winning helps to keep Tennessee below the Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft order. Root for the Titans.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: The Raiders winning helps to keep Las Vegas below the Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft order. Also, the Raiders winning works towards improving the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker if Philly can beat LV later this season. Root for the Raiders.
WHAT’S LEFT
DENVER BRONCOS at HOUSTON TEXANS: Doesn’t really matter much but the Texans are currently ahead of the Cowboys in the 2026 NFL Draft order and more Houston losses helps to keep them ahead of Dallas. Root for the Broncos.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Doesn’t really matter.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at BUFFALO BILLS: The Chiefs winning helps to improve the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker since Philly already beat KC. Root for the Chiefs.
