The Miami Dolphins dropped to 2-7 through the first nine weeks of the 2025 NFL season after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. While the rest of the league is waiting for their Week 9 contests, the Dolphins are already starting to work on the future – general manager Chris Grier has agreed to leave the team, and they are working on ways to improve “in 2025, 2026, and beyond.”

This week, our SB Nation Reacts survey asked how many games the Dolphins would win this season. The survey ran before Thursday’s game, but, with another loss on the record, it still seems like an accurate response from the fan base.

The poll allowed for answers of two wins, three to five wins, six to eight wins, or somehow turn everything around for nine or more wins. By a huge margin, three to five wins won the poll with 70 percent of the responses. The second most popular response was six to eight wins, with 21 percent of the replies. Nine or more wins was third with seven percent of the responses, while the team not winning another game this season coming in with just two percent of the replies.

How many wins will the Dolphins have in 2025?

The Dolphins are making things hard on themselves this year, and three to five wins may be the ceiling they can reach this year. The team makes too many mistakes, getting in their own way almost as often as they are getting beaten by the opponent.

The Ravens beat the Dolphins 28-6, but the stats show this was a much closer game than that. The Dolphins gained 332 yards, compared to 338 for Baltimore. Miami averaged 4.4 yards per carry on the ground, while the Ravens averaged 4.8. The Dolphins have 245 passing yards while the Ravens had 188. The time of possession was 28:17 for Miami and 31:43 for Baltimore. The game should have been close, but two lost fumbles and an interception with no takeaways crushed the Dolphins’ chances.

If the Dolphins can figure out how to stop making unforced mistakes, they could put together some wins. But “if” is the key word, and they do not look like a team who is going to suddenly make a late-season run.

Our survey also included our weekly fan confidence poll question. Remember, this was before the Ravens game, so that loss is not included in the results. Before Thursday’s game, 16 percent of the fans said they were confident in the direction of the team. That was a massive increase from the week before, where just six percent of the responses felt good about Miami’s direction.

Will the loss to the Ravens drop the fan confidence? Will the change of GM lead to an increase in fan confidence about the direction of the team? We will be back early next week to see what happens.

Miami Dolphins 2025 Fan Confidence Results:

Week 1 – 45%

Week 2 – 5%

Week 3 – 3%

Week 4 – 9%

Week 5 – 32%

Week 6 – 5%

Week 7 – 3%

Week 8 – 6%

Week 9 – 16%
