I have to think that even the most diehard among us went into last week’s game with little hope for our Miami Dolphins to leave Atlanta with a win. Then, of course, Miami surprised everyone by handing the Falcons a thorough beatdown. It is also, of course, the most Dolphins of things to do to win a game that no one saw them winning while also losing to teams in the same season that they have no business losing to. I, for one, hope that game was not just that, but more of a sign of things to come —this team finally figuring things out and being, at the very least, competitive week in and week out.
Now comes to town one of the teams that many had picked/predicted as not only the top team in their division this season but also probably one of the teams at the very top that would challenge the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills for the best team in the AFC. Thus far, this season has not gone the Ravens’ way, as they have won only two games. Last week, the team broke their four-game losing streak with a 30-16 victory over the Chicago Bears. The win over Chicago was with former Dolphin Tyler Huntley behind center. Huntly had a solid day, giving him a very good 116.9 QBR.
One of the primary reasons the Ravens have been hampered this season is the absence of starting quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson went down in week 4 during their loss to the Chiefs with a hamstring injury. Lamar, as of the writing of this post, is expected to return to the starting lineup for the Ravens for this evening’s game against the Dolphins. Will Lamar be the Lamar of old this evening, or will he still be shaking off the effects of the injury and the past four weeks on the sidelines? Will our Dolphins show out again on both offense and, maybe more importantly, on defense against a much better quarterback this evening?
