Generally, the home teams get more of the benefit of the doubt than the road teams when it comes to the spread for the game.

After a catastrophic meltdown by the defense, the Cincinnati Bengals are 2.5-point underdogs to the Chicago Bears, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

It is hard to argue that after Justin Fields, statistically one of the worst starting quarterbacks this season, came into Cincinnati on Sunday and made a New York Jets offense without two of its top wide receivers look like Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were slinging it around.

The Bengals’ offense wasn’t firing on all cylinders; they had a two-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter, and Joe Flacco had three total touchdowns, and the running game looked pretty unstoppable at times. It doesn’t matter when the defense allows 39 and the offense only scores 38.

The Bears will be looking to follow in those footsteps this coming Sunday. Quarterback Caleb Williams hasn’t had multiple throwing touchdowns in a game in over a month, but the offense has scored at least 25 points in four games before last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Hard to believe they don’t at least make that mark on Sunday with the way the defense has been playing as of late. And to make matters worse, Joe Flacco is iffy to play due to a shoulder issue.

That doesn’t mean the Bengals can’t win this game. They’ll have to come out and play with a huge chip on their shoulder. They need to get back into being a serious contender for at least a Wild Card spot if the hope is for Joe Burrow to return this season.
