Since Joe Flacco arrived in Cincinnati, the Bengals’ offense has stopped being a problem and become quite the solution.
Well, we might be back to it being a problem again.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Flacco is dealing with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder suffered in last week’s loss to the New York Jets.
It is unclear if he will be able to start against the Chicago Bears.
If Flacco can’t go, the Bengals would be forced to turn to Jake Browning again.
Browning, of course, was so ineffective that the Bengals made an uncharacteristic trade for a 40-year-old QB in the middle of the season.
Now he could get a second chance to prove he is who he thinks he is.
Even if Flacco can play, the bigger issue in Cincinnati is the defense, which seems to be capable of losing games no matter how many points Ja’Marr Chase and the offense put up.
