The Miami Dolphins are coming off their best performance of the 2025 season, beating the Atlanta Falcons 34-10 on Sunday. Miami won on offense, defense, and special teams, seemingly from the opening kickoff through the final whistle. It was an all-around win for a Dolphins team that has struggled to find anything positive about this season.
The win moves Miami to 2-6 for the season, and hopefully gives them some momentum for the second half of the season. They will not have to wait long to prove they are more like the Week 8 version of the team than they are the Weeks 1 through 7 team. Miami returns to South Florida for Week 9 as they host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football.
The good news for Miami, other than the positivity coming off a win earlier today, is that the game is at home and they do not need to travel on the short week. The bad news is, the Ravens are expected to have quarterback Lamar Jackson back on the field after a hamstring injury sidelined him for the last three games.
Baltimore is 2-5 on the year, but they are also coming off a Week 8 win, beating the Chicago Bears 30-16 earlier today. Baltimore, with Jackson’s return, are anticipating a return to competitiveness in the AFC playoff picture, despite the rough start for the year.
Which team will come out on top and potentially spark a turnaround during a rough season? According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook there is not much to debate about how this game will play out.
The line opened on Sunday night with the Ravens a 7.5-point favorite. Add in the normal three points a home team receives in the spread, and it seems like the oddsmakers see this as potentially a double-digit advantage for Baltimore.
The Ravens are -340 on the moneyline, while Miami is +275 for the outright win. The point total is set at 49.5.
Can Miami pull off the upset and turn a good Sunday performance into two straight wins with a Thursday-night victory?
Kickoff for the game is at 8:15 p.m. Eastern on Thursday from Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium.
