Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 8 edition. Each week, I’m giving you my three favorite wagers for that week’s New York Giants game. My one rule: I won’t ever give you wagers that are less than -120. No gimmies!
The Giants remain on the road this week, traveling down the Turnpike to Philadelphia where they’ll face the Eagles in a rematch of Week 6. Who can forget that game? The Giants upset the defending Super Bowl champions at home in primetime, and did so in convincing fashion, 34-17. On Sunday, Brian Daboll’s team has a chance to sweep the birds for the first time since 2007. Jaxson Dart is 2-0 in his home starts but is looking for his first road win in his third try.
A lot has happened in the two weeks since that Thursday night game at MetLife Stadium. Philadelphia bounced up off the mat and handled the Vikings in Minnesota, while the Giants…well, you know what they did. So much has been written about the Giant loss in Denver that I don’t need to discuss it, other than to wonder out loud how much Big Blue’s catastrophic fourth quarter collapse will spill into this week.
The line this week is Philadelphia -7.5, with a game total of 43.5. The line and the total are stay-aways for me, as I just don’t know what to expect from the G-Men after last week. The line looks too big in relation to how these teams are playing, and if I had to pick a side, I’d pick the Giants to cover.
My picks were 1-2 last week, and sadly, the one I hit was Denver -1.5 for the fourth quarter. I’ve stumbled following a hot start to the season.

Here are this week’s picks. All lines and odds are from Fanduel and are as of Friday, October 24.
- Philadelphia OVER 26.5 points (-113). The Eagles have only topped this number three times this season, and their offense has generally been boring, predictable, and underwhelming. So why am I jumping on this? Three reasons. One, Philadelphia’s passing attack woke up last week in a big way, and even with A.J. Brown (hamstring) out I see that continuing in a game that Philly will be up for. Two, the Giants are likely going to be missing a couple of key pieces of their secondary in Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo, plus Brian Burns is banged up although he says he’ll play. Three, I don’t think the Giants’ defense will turn the page all that easily after the Denver debacle, and especially with the injuries. They handled the Eagles’ offense two weeks ago, but I think Hurts and Co. will cause more problems this time around.
- Saquon Barkley OVER 79.5 rushing yards (-114). Barkley has been stuck in the mud for most of the season and has only gone over this total once. That’s astounding, considering he crossed the 100-yard threshold 11 times last season. His per-carry average has plummeted from 5.8 in 2024 to 3.3 this season. What gives? Where are the big runs? Well, maybe the insane usage from last year is catching up with him. The Eagles have had offensive line injuries and that’s also been a contributor. Standout guard Landon Dickerson missed the Week 6 game but is back in the lineup and that should help. The Giants handled Barkley two weeks ago, but the Eagles oddly went away from him after his first two carries netted 31 yards, plus they trailed for most of the game. I expect a better game script this time around, and a big dose of No. 26. The Giants are allowing 130 rushing yards per game (ninth-most in the NFL), and I won’t be surprised if Saquon notches his first 100-yard game of the season.
- Wan’Dale Robinson longest reception OVER 18.5 yards (-118). Robinson has generally been good for at least one big play per game, and he’s had a reception longer than this mark in five of the team’s seven games. Dart has shown a willingness to push the ball downfield, and he’s targeted Robinson 19 times in the last two games. The Eagles have given up some big plays this season, and I think Robinson will either catch something long downfield or turn a short throw into a long enough gain.
Those are the picks for Week 8. Three overs? Sure, why not? Good luck with your wagers!
