There seems to be no secret in NFL circles that the New York Giants would like to add a wide receiver before the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline. The question, though, is whether or not the Giants are going to be able to do that.
The trade market may not be as flush with wide receivers as was believed a couple of weeks ago. The Giants, without a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, don’t have surplus draft capital to surrender. The surplus players they might have to offer — Russell Wilson, Evan Neal, Deonte Banks, maybe Jalin Hyatt — seem unlikely to bring back an impact return.
Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints is an oft-discussed name. It does not, though, appear certain the Saints will part with him. The Miami Dolphins (Jaylen Waddle) and Las Vegas Raiders (Jakobi Meyers) might not be willing to sell.
ESPN believes the Giants might “window-shop but ultimately stand pat.”
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote:
They could use help for Jaxson Dart, but multiple teams I’ve spoken to believe the Giants would prefer to keep their draft picks as a team still in transition.
The Athletic believes the Giants will stand pat after dropping to 2-5.
There remains a chance the Giants could move some of their spare parts. The deadline, though, might not bring the impact player the Giants — and their fans — would love to see added to the roster.
