I’m not going to bother asking you to put your fours up, because it’s not worth your energy at this point. We’re heading to the fourth quarter of Thursday Night Football, and the Minnesota Vikings are getting blown out by the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 24-10.
(Sure, that’s not technically a blowout, but it sure feels like one.)
The Chargers got the ball coming out of the locker room at halftime and, as they’ve done all night, marched down the field with basically no resistance. Their drive stalled out, however, and they added to their lead on a 43-yard Cameron Dicker field goal to make it 24-3.
The Vikings wound up punting the ball away again on their first possession of the half, putting the Chargers back inside their own 20-yard line. Then, the Vikings’ defense made its biggest play of the game, as a pass from Justin Herbert was deflected by Jalen Redmond and intercepted by Josh Metellus!
It looked like the Vikings were going to settle for another Reichard field goal, as he connected to make it 24-6. However, the Chargers got called for 12 men on the field on the field goal attempt, so the Vikings chose to take the three points off the board and go for it on fourth-and-goal. On that play, Wentz was sacked, but the Chargers were called for a defensive penalty to give the Vikings a fresh set of downs, and they took advantage as Wentz found Jordan Addison for a 4-yard touchdown to get the Vikings into the end zone and make the score 24-10.
The Chargers are on the move again, however, and as we head into the fourth quarter the Chargers have a first-and-10 from the Minnesota 14-yard line.
Fifteen minutes left in this one, and it’s not looking good for the Vikings are they trail the Chargers by a score of 24-10 with Los Angeles looking for more. Come join us for the final fifteen minutes of this one if you think you have the stomach for it.
