We’ve made it through the first quarter of play at SoFi Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings trail the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 7-0, and the home team is in position for more.

The Vikings got the football first after the Chargers won the opening coin toss and chose to defer to the second half. Myles Price took the opening kickoff out to near midfield, but. . .as we’ve come to expect. . .there was a holding penalty on the return to negate it. Carson Wentz found Justin Jefferson for a big gain on the Vikings’ first third down despite taking a big hit, but the offense stalled and they punted it away to the Chargers.

It looked like the Vikings’ defense put the ball into the end zone on the Chargers’ second offensive play, as Justin Herbert threw a pass that looked like it was picked off by Isaiah Rodgers for a pick six, but it was taken off the board by a review. The Chargers took advantage of their second life, as they marched down the field and got the ball into the end zone on an 8-yard pass from Justin Herbert to Oronde Gadsden II to take a 7-0 lead.

The Vikings then proceeded to go three-and-out on their second possession after Wentz got sacked on a third down, with Ryan Wright’s punt putting the ball at the Los Angeles 41-yard line.

As we move to the second quarter, the Chargers are looking at a 1st-and-10 from the Vikings’ 30-yard line.

It’s been a pretty ugly start for the Vikings thus far, as they trail the Chargers by a score of 7-0. Come on in and join us for the second quarter of play!
