Eagles trade deadline: 15 mock trades that Howie Roseman could explore ahead of the Nov. 4 – PHLY

Eagles acquire Jermaine Johnson for a third-round pick. It might require slightly more to make this deal happen, but the Eagles’ history of valuing players like Johnson makes this one an interesting one to consider. The 26-year-old is a former first-round pick, with extremely high-level athletic traits and even has some connections inside the NovaCare Complex after being drafted by former Jets GM and current Eagles personnel director Joe Douglas. Johnson had 7.5 sacks in 2023 and made the Pro Bowl, but suffered torn Achilles last season and has just one sack in seven games this year on a struggling Jets defense. With another year left on his rookie contract after this season, Johnson is exactly the type of upside play the Eagles have taken in the past and could develop into an impact player for an edge-rusher rotation that could still use one even after signing Brandon Graham out of retirement earlier this week. (Bo’s grade: 91).

Six NFL trades we’d like to see: Alvin Kamara to Chiefs, Trey Hendrickson to Cowboys – The Athletic

Miami Dolphins trade edge rusher Bradley Chubb to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2026 third-round pick. Why it makes sense. Jones: The Eagles have needed pass-rushing help since they lost Josh Sweat in free agency, and that need intensified after Za’Darius Smith’s retirement announcement. Chubb, who missed last season while recovering from ACL repair surgery, is off to a strong start this season, recording four sacks. Pair him with a front that includes stud linemen such as Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter and reunite him with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, and Chubb should make an instant impact. Why it won’t happen. Howe: If the Dolphins go full tank, it would probably signify the end of the regime in some capacity. But they started 2-6 in 2024 before finishing 8-9, so Mike McDaniel has seen recent evidence of his team getting hot in the second half. And if he’s still on the job by the trade deadline, I can’t imagine McDaniel being keen on the idea of giving away one of his most talented defensive players.

Let Jalen Hurts cook – BGN

Throwing more won’t solve all the Eagles problems. The offense has been awful on 1st down no matter what they do, 27th in yards per rushing attempt and 28th in yards per passing attempt. But it will solve some problems. The run game and defense are struggling and the QB isn’t. Give him more. Give him more chances. The team is 27th on 3rd down conversions, they’ve been top 10 in every season with Hurts as a starter (and top 5 in three of them). Hurts is on pace to throw the second fewest attempts per game in his five seasons as a starter, with his lowest rate being last season, when he had multiple games with 1 or fewer passing attempt in the 4th quarter because the team was blowing out the opposition.

2025 Game Review – PHI 28, MIN 22 – Iggles Blitz

The OL had an odd game. They looked good on the opening drive. Landon Dickerson got off to a good start. Got movement in the run game. You saw some flashes of his power. The run blocking went downhill after that, especially when Jurgens got hurt and Brett Toth took over at center. Toth really struggled on run plays. They had him trying to block Jalen Redmond and that didn’t go well. Fred Johnson was in the game as a sixth OL for 10 plays. The OL was good in pass protection. Hurts had time to get the ball downfield. He was able to step into his throws, which is critical for success on the deep balls. Tyler Steen got away with a false start on the second TD pass to AJ.

Jordan Mailata ready to get over the ‘worst game of my career’ – NBCSP

A couple weeks ago, the Eagles were embarrassed in a 34-17 loss to the New York Giants. And while head coach Nick Sirianni claimed the team won’t use revenge as a motivating factor, it’s clear that what happened at MetLife Stadium is sticking with a few individual players. Jordan Mailata is one of those players. “Yeah, I’m excited,” Mailata said on Wednesday. “I’m excited. Personally, I am.” Why is the Eagles’ starting left tackle so excited to see the Giants again? “For me, I just feel like I played the worst game of my career two weeks ago,” Mailata said. “I wasn’t happy about that. For me, it’s just, like, I gotta go out there and do my job. Do a better job than I did last time. But it’s kelly green (week), so I’m excited about that. At the end of the day, it’s the next game.” The Eagles were bullied in that game at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 9. Mailata was charged with a team-high four pressures, according to ProFootballFocus, and the Eagles’ run game again failed to get going against the 25th-ranked run defense in the NFL. In that game, the Eagles scored just 17 points. They were 1-for-9 on third downs. They had a run success rate of just 35%. There was plenty of blame to go around, but Mailata was focused on his own struggles.

Best, worst 2025 NFL offseasons: Tiers for all 32 teams – ESPN

Highlights: Drafting first-round LB Jihaad Campbell and second-round S Andrew Mukuba. Disappointments: Promoting OC Kevin Patullo, extending RB Saquon Barkley (two years, $41.2 million), various moves at cornerback. This had to be a quiet offseason for the Eagles, who spent heavily to keep their core in 2024 and let a handful of veteran contributors leave for cap reasons this past spring. Philly would obviously love to have players such as Milton Williams and Josh Sweat in the fold, but that was never going to be realistic. The Eagles can be excited about the play of their young contributors on defense, though. Campbell and Mukuba have stepped into the starting lineup and looked like they belonged from day one. They’re both down-ballot Defensive Rookie of the Year candidates and much-needed additions for the Eagles given the team’s cutbacks on that side of the ball.

NFL Week 8 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch and betting spreads – PFF

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-7.0). Storyline of the game: The Eagles look to build on a strong passing performance. The Eagles’ offense hasn’t looked at its best in 2025, often struggling for connectivity between the pass and run games. But, the passing game was as potent as it has been all season against the Vikings in Week 7, with Jalen Hurts compiling a 94.9 PFF passing grade, and receivers DeVonta Smith (90.5 grade) and A.J. Brown (85.2 grade) combining for 304 receiving yards and three touchdowns. After an embarrassing 34-17 loss to the Giants two weeks ago, the Eagles will be looking to lean on their passing game for revenge.

The 2025 NFL Quarterback Commitment Index – The Ringer

Fighting in Public. Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts. The Eagles and Jalen Hurts are that couple that’s always bickering, even if you know that deep down they love each other. Wide receiver A.J. Brown is having an existential crisis because he isn’t getting the football. Right tackle Lane Johnson says that the offense is predictable. The city of Philadelphia seems ready to turn on offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. And Hurts is now in the strange position of being a man who won the Super Bowl earlier this year but who also seemed incapable of getting the ball to the NFL’s second-best wide receiver duo in Brown and DeVonta Smith. Of course, Hurts responded by getting both deep touchdowns on Sunday. But this Eagles marriage is dysfunction at its finest. Philadelphia is a madhouse. Yet somehow, Hurts has the perfect, stoic disposition to withstand the chaos. This man was made to be in this city.

Giants prepare Jaxson Dart for playing in Philly: ‘He’s about to get introduced to all (of his haters)’ – Inquirer

Dart’s teammates are already trying to prepare him for the environment at the Linc. Eagles fans will certainly be out to give Dart and fellow rookie Cam Skattebo a warm Philly welcome. “I mean, if he didn’t have any haters, he’ll find out where they all live,” Giants receiver Darius Slayton said on Wednesday. “He’s about to get introduced to all of them.”

How much are the Eagles paying for Brandon Graham to unretire? – NJ.com

Graham signed a one-year contract worth a prorated $4,895,000, according to a Thursday morning report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Graham will be paid $2.44 million for a little more than half the season, including a signing bonus of $1,677,500, according to Rapoport.

Brandon Graham details his decision to return to the Eagles – PE.com

Brandon Graham walked into the locker room at the NovaCare Complex with a familiar smile across his face as reporters gathered around to speak with the defensive end. Graham ended his seven-month retirement on Tuesday and is back for another season with the Birds, marking his 16th year in green, a franchise record. Graham said the possibility of unretiring first came up before Za’Darius Smith, who ended up taking over Graham’s locker, signed in Philadelphia after Week 1. Graham said he was trying to deal with retirement and work through not playing, so he decided not to come back, but he knew he couldn’t pass up the opportunity if it presented itself again. Then, Smith abruptly retired after Philadelphia’s game against the Giants, and that’s when the conversations with Graham started again. “I knew I wasn’t all the way done, honestly,” he said. “… When Za’Darius retired, it just felt like it was the perfect thing to do. Cause obviously he was in my locker and to get it back and just to [say], ‘Let’s go do this thing again.’ That’s how I feel, it’s like we got an opportunity again and [I] just wanna be able to just go to war with my brothers every week.”

Ken Anderson among 34 seniors candidates moving to next phase of Hall of Fame selection process – PFT

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that 34 seniors candidates are moving onto the next phase of the selection process for the Class of 2026. A group of 52 names was cut down to 34 by the Hall of Fame’s blue-ribbon committee for seniors candidates. Players in this group last could have appeared in a game during the 2000 season. The members of the committee voted for 25 players each with the top 25 plus ties moving on to the next round of voting. The group will be cut to nine semifinalists next month and three finalists will move on to the Hall of Fame’s selection committee for consideration. The full list of candidates is: Quarterbacks: Ken Anderson, Charlie Conerly, Roman Gabriel.

Fantasy sleepers NFL Week 8: Three running backs among 10 high-upside lineup plays – NFL.com

Wan’Dale Robinson: Lost amid all the hype around Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo (DartTebo? SkatteJax?) is the steady presence of Robinson. He’s in the top 20 across the NFL in targets, receptions and receiving yards. Just as important, Robinson is working downfield. His 9.1 air yards per target is nearly double what it was last year (4.9). He’s turned it into being WR19 through the first seven weeks. The Eagles have mostly been average against fantasy receivers. But over the past few weeks, they’ve given up some big games to wideouts — including a 20-point outing to Robinson in Week 6. With Dart playing well and directing one-quarter of his throws to Robinson, he should be in plenty of lineups this week.

Why the Cowboys should proceed cautiously when trying to make a big move before the trade deadline – Blogging The Boys

The real solution. We all want the Cowboys to be good right now. And it’s true, time is ticking on the window of opportunity for Dak Prescott. If the right player comes along, the team should be open to the idea of making a move, and maybe that move isn’t necessarily a first-round pick, but a second? But what they don’t want to do is panic. Don’t get hasty and believe that they are one player away. That kind of thinking has gotten Jerry Jones in trouble in the past with trades for Joey Galloway and Roy Williams. Protect that precious draft capital at all costs! What will make the Cowboys a better football team is that their current players gain a better understanding of the schemes the new coaching staff is trying to convey, particularly on defense. And for the coaches themselves to make adjustments in their schemes that better accommodate their players’ abilities. The breakdowns we are seeing won’t be remedied by one defender, but rather by a collective group of more disciplined players. Save the draft picks, improve the coaching.

Jonathan Taylor is playing at an MVP level, and it’s making the Colts look for real – SB Nation

Which team(s) need to make a move before the trade deadline? RJ: For me this ultimately boils down to who we think has a chance to win the Super Bowl that has arrived at inclusion on the list after not necessarily being on it in August. I’d throw out teams like the Colts, Steelers, Rams, and Cowboys. Indy is riding a magic train and has to do everything they can to keep the party going. Pittsburgh and Los Angeles are both clearly near the end of their rope with their quarterback situations and therefore have to try to find a way to capitalize while the iron is hot. Dallas has something beautiful working with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens and not doing what they could to amplify that would be criminal.

Jayden Daniels reportedly ruled out; Marcus Mariota gets the start vs Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs – Hogs Haven

The Washington Commanders have reportedly made a decision on QB Jayden Daniels’ game status after he left last week’s Cowboys game with a hamstring injury. He’ll miss his third game of the season, and Marcus Mariota will start his first game vs Patrick Mahomes. Daniels had an MRI on Monday, and head coach Dan Quinn described Daniels’ hamstring injury as “not significant or long-term”. The team will be cautious with their franchise QB after he already missed two games with a knee injury after Week 2.

New York Giants trying to avoid ‘snowball effect’ after Denver debacle – Big Blue View

Fans ride an emotional rollercoaster with their teams. Highs like the New York Giants victory over the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks bring euphoria. Lows like Sunday’s collapse vs. the Denver Broncos bring misery, a hunt for blame, and the thought that everyone involved should be fired or cut. Fans can debate those highs and lows as emotionally as they want. Media can return to asking or writing about those things for as long and as often as they desire. Players don’t have that luxury. “If you don’t put it away, it’s going to steamroll to another one and be a snowball effect,” said veteran defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches. “Just like any other game, there’s good, there’s bad, but you still got to flush it because within six days you’re going to play another one. Unless you want that same thing to repeat, you got to learn from it, rinse, and apply for the next.” So, how are the Giants moving on from Sunday’s historic collapse in a game that saw wounds both self-inflicted and unfortunate, the defensive coordinator come under fire again, and the play-calling and clock management of the final few minutes be questioned?

2026 Cap Space vs Salary Guarantees – Over The Cap

Finally we get the bottom right where we get teams that have big commitments to their roster and not a great cap situation next year. For teams like the Bills and Lions who are likely playoff teams they will simply double down on their deals with restructures. For teams like the Giants and Browns it is just a bad look. There is no reason for teams that didn’t looks that good to start with to have put themselves in these positions.
