The Minnesota Vikings will look to avoid their first losing streak of 2025 as they make a trip to the West Coast on a short week.
In Week 8, the Vikings will head out to Los Angeles to face the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium, a scenario similar to one they faced last year when they traveled to the City of Angels on a short week following a loss. Vikings fans are, obviously, hoping for a much better ending this time around.
Even with a short week, there will be some controversy around the quarterback position for the Vikings. Carson Wentz had some struggles against Philadelphia in the Vikings’ Week 7 loss, but managed to get the team into the red zone six times. . .where they came away with just one touchdown. The calls will come for J.J. McCarthy to make his return, but Kevin O’Connell hasn’t said one way or another who will be getting the start in this one.
The Chargers are reeling a bit, having lost three of their last four, including a 38-24 thrashing by the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday. Justin Herbert is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, so the Vikings will have to be aware of him and his offensive weaponry in this one.
In the early betting, the Vikings are coming into this one as a 3-point underdog, with the over/under sitting at 43.5 points.
Kickoff for this one is slated for 7:15 PM Central on Thursday night, with coverage being provided by Amazon Prime. We’ll have all of our coverage of this one all in this stream, so keep it here for all the latest!
