The New York Giants will have rookie edge defender Abdul Carter (Hamstring) against the Denver Broncos.
There was suddenly concern regarding the third overall pick when Carter popped up on the injury report Friday. Carter practiced fully all week before being listed as “questionable” on Friday.
At the same time, the Giants activated outside linebacker Victor Dimukeje off of the PUP list. The Giants signed Dimukeje in free agency, but he spent most of the off-season on the PUP list after suffering a torn pec in off-season workouts with the team. His activation — along with Carter appearing on the injury report — created some concern that the rookie pass rusher could miss the game.
We already knew that the Giants would be without WR Darius Slayton (hamstring), OC John Michael Schmitz (concussion), DL Chauncey Golston (neck), and linebackers Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring) and Swayze Bozeman (ankle). Each of those players came into the week injured and did not make the trip with the team to Denver.
For their part, the Broncos will be missing outside linebacker Jonah Elliss, who was ruled out for the second straight week on Friday with a shoulder injury.
