The seventh Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season approaches!

Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 7 games.

EAGLES GAME

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Eagles must avoid losing three straight games. A win gets the Birds to 5-2 and ensures they stay on top of their division. Go Birds.

NFC EAST

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at DALLAS COWBOYS: It’s nice for the Eagles that either of these rivals losing helps them. As for the optimal outcome? That’s Washington losing. The Commanders have the better record (including 1-0 in division games) and they rank higher than Dallas in point differential and DVOA. Rooting for the Cowboys to succeed is a necessary evil here. Root for the Cowboys.

NEW YORK GIANTS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Eagles don’t want to see the Giants build momentum from beating Philly last week. A loss puts a damper on the good vibes going on in North Jersey. Root for the Broncos.

If the Eagles get their way this weekend (PHI win + DAL win + DEN win), the division standings will look like this:

1) Eagles: 5-2

2) Cowboys: 3-3-1

3) Commanders: 3-4

4) Giants: 2-5

Not too bad.

If everything goes against the Eagles this weekend, it’ll look like this:

1) Commanders: 4-3

2) Eagles: 4-3

3) Giants: 3-4

4) Cowboys: 2-4-1

Not so good.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE

LOS ANGELES RAMS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Eagles should want to see a non-Rams team win the NFC West. Root for the Jaguars.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Bears winning the NFC North isn’t likely but it would be ideal. Better them than Detroit. Also, the Eagles potentially have the opportunity to improve their strength of victory tiebreaker by beating Chicago later this season. Root for the Bears.

GREEN BAY PACKERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: Minnesota or Chicago winning the NFC North is preferable to Detroit or Green Bay winning it. Root for the Cardinals.

ATLANTA FALCONS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: The Eagles want a non-Bucs team to win the NFC South (not to mention Tampa is arguably the biggest threat in the entire conference) . The Falcons could be the most viable alternative. Additionally, the Eagles will be rooting for Bryce Huff to get some more sacks since he’s five away from elevating the draft pick the Birds will receive from the Niners from a fifth-round selection to a fourth-round selection. Root for the Falcons. And Bryce Huff.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at DETROIT LIONS: The 5-1 Bucs have a better record than the 4-2 Lions. Also, the Bucs have the eighth-easiest remaining schedule while the Lions have the second-most difficult remaining schedule. More losses will be coming for Detroit. Can’t easily say the same for Tampa. Need them to lose here. Root for the Lions.

HOUSTON TEXANS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: The Eagles would rather see the Seahawks win the NFC West instead of the Rams. Root for the Seahawks.

DRAFT PICK WATCH

CAROLINA PANTHERS at NEW YORK JETS: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Root for the Panthers.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at TENNESSEE TITANS: The Eagles want a non-Jets team to win the AFC East … but that’s looking safe at this point. Therefore, the priority here is making sure the Titans don’t move ahead of the Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft order. Root for the Titans.

WHAT’S LEFT

MIAMI DOLPHINS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: The Eagles want the Jets to stay ahead of both of these teams in the 2026 NFL Draft order. The Browns arguably have a better chance to move ahead of the Jets, especially due to the strength of schedule tiebreaker currently working in Cleveland’s favor. Root for the Browns.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: With the Eagles beating the Chiefs, the Birds stand to benefit from KC winning by way of the strength of victory tiebreaker. Of course, this angle will be moot if the Eagles also beat the Raiders later this season. And it won’t be very good if the Eagles lose to the Raiders. Still, for now, stick with rooting for the Chiefs. Root for the Chiefs.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The Chargers winning work to improve the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker, assuming the Birds are able to beat the Bolts later this season. Root for the Chargers.
