Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) at Minnesota Vikings (3-2) at 1:00 p.m. Sunday
The Line: Eagles minus-1.5/Total: 43.5
What is the line telling you:
Originally, the line on this game opened with the Eagles was -3 and a total of 41.5, and since then, we’ve seen movement on both the side and total. The current price in the U.S. markets ranges from Eagles -1.5 to -2.5, while some of the sharper offshore books have Nick Sirianni’s team listed as a 1-point road favorite at Minnesota. The total has also ticked up 2 to 2.5 points, now sitting as high as 43.5 or 44, depending on the sportsbook.
When it comes to the health score, both teams are a bit banged up heading into Sunday, with the Eagles holding a 4-point health advantage over the Vikings. The biggest disparity comes on the offensive side of the ball, where the Eagles’ offense rates +10 better in health than Minnesota’s.
Even though there’s some sharp money on Minnesota this week, we’re not looking to invest in a Vikings team that ranks 22nd in turnover differential and is dealing with several injuries on offense. After two straight losses, this feels like a buy-low spot for Philadelphia in the market.
Bottom line:
Before the season, oddsmakers projected the Eagles to be at least two wins better than the Vikings, and with Philly getting back some key defensive contributors—and the Vikings still lacking a quality win on their résumé (their victories coming against the Bengals, Browns, and Bears)—I’ll take my chances with the Eagles on the moneyline or -1.
Expect a big day from Saquon Barkley against a Vikings run defense that ranks 22nd in the NFL in opponent yards per rush attempt. The pay is Eagles on the moneyline or -1
Prop bets for the game:
