The Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles have issued their first injury reports in advance of Sunday’s matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium. Here they are:

Minnesota Vikings

  • OLB Tyler Batty, Knee, Full
  • LB Blake Cashman, Hamstring, Full
  • C Michael Jurgens, Hamstring, Full
  • QB Carson Wentz, Left Shoulder, Full
  • DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Hip, Limited
  • LG Donovan Jackson, Wrist, Limited
  • QB J.J. McCarthy, Ankle, Limited
  • RT Brian O’Neill, Knee, Limited
  • OLB Andrew Van Ginkel, Neck, Limited

For the Vikings, Batty and Cashman have their 21-day windows open to return from IR and both look on track to be active on Sunday. Batty’s was open before the bye-week. Jurgens and Wentz as full participants in practice Wednesday also look to be on track to be active Sunday, although in what capacity remains to be seen. The fact that McCarthy was limited suggests he didn’t get as many reps as Wentz, making Wentz the more likely starter on Sunday at quarterback. It’s unclear who is getting first team reps at center, but Blake Brandel may have leapfrogged Jurgens to get the starting nod. Kevin O’Connell’s comments this week suggest there is at least a competition for the starting job with Ryan Kelly on IR, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Brandel who starts on Sunday. I’m guessing both O’Neill and Van Ginkel are more long shots to play on Sunday from O’Connell’s comments, but we’ll have to see how the week plays out. Van Ginkel practicing with full pads and helmet was promising, however.

Philadelphia Eagles

  • TE Grant Calcaterra, Oblique, DNP
  • LG Landon Dickerson, Ankle, Limited
  • CB Quinton Mitchell, Hamstring, Limited
  • LB Zack Baun, Finger, Full
  • DT Jalen Carter, Heel, Full
  • DT Jordan Davis, Shoulder, Full

For the Eagles, backup tight-end Grant Calcaterra seems unlikely to play Sunday. Eagles’ starting left guard Landon Dickerson was expected to miss this game on Sunday, but his being limited suggests there is a possibility he could play. However, Dickerson has been dealing with a meniscus injury as well that has impacted his performance, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the Eagles rested him until after their bye-week. Quinton Mitchell injured his hamstring during the Giants game last week and did not return. Hamstring injuries are delicate so it wouldn’t be surprising if Mitchell didn’t play Sunday. Eagles’ Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said his status “‘remains to be seen” earlier this week. If Mitchell can’t go, Adoree Jackson and Kelee Ringo would start at outside cornerback for the Eagles and Cooper DeJean in the slot. If Dickerson can’t go on Sunday, Brett Toth would replace him. Cornerback has become a liability for the Eagles as they’ve been hit with injuries and Mitchell being out would be a significant loss. On the other hand, getting Jalen Carter back will be helpful to their defensive front.
