The Cincinnati Bengals may have found a temporary solution at quarterback, but that hasn’t stopped teams from inquiring about their best pass rusher.
Trey Hendrickson is being mentioned in trade rumors, which is hardly shocking considering his consistently great production.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to inquire about the 30-year-old pass rusher.
“San Francisco is canvassing the pass rusher market to fill the void left by Nick Bosa’s injury. I expect the 49ers to call Cincinnati about Trey Hendrickson,” Russini wrote.
It’s worth noting that in Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, Hendrickson went down with a back injury and did not return, so that could complicate potential trade talks with other teams.
After his exit, Cincinnati’s defense had no real pass rush, and they allowed the Packers to score seemingly at will late in the game.
There is still plenty of time ahead of the NFL trade deadline on November 4. The Bengals might be waiting to see if newly acquired Joe Flacco can make the team competitive enough to make keeping Hendrickson worth it.
Saying this, it would take a massive offer for the Bengals to give up Hendrickson.
