We are skipping the Victory Of The Week post this evening so that we can post your open letters to Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. Below are your letters, but if you missed the original post and would like to participate, please place your thoughts in the comments section below.
dedstrk kicks us off with a plea to sell or, at the very least, get someone in at the top who knows what they are doing.
SELL THE TEAM! or alternatively, hire a real football guy to run the day-to-day and report to you.
The Miami Ute took this seriously, and I, for one, appreciate that. Here are Ute’s thoughts-
This letter took me a while to put together, so don’t laugh….I wrote is as if I was writing to a superior in a hierarchical organization, something that I was part of for well over three decades.
Mr. Stephen M. Ross

Dear Mr. Ross,
I hope this letter finds you well. As a long-time supporter of the Miami Dolphins, I am writing out of both concern and loyalty. The 2025 season has been deeply frustrating—for fans, players, and the organization alike. The team entered the year with high expectations, yet a series of recurring issues have undermined our performance and progress. I wanted to share my observations as a fan who cares deeply about this franchise, and offer a few possible solutions moving forward.
First, inconsistency in coaching and game management continues to plague the team. While Coach McDaniel’s offensive creativity remains a strength, the lack of in-game adjustments—particularly when opponents disrupt the rhythm early—has resulted in missed opportunities and costly losses. Too often, the offense stalls in critical moments, and the defense is left on the field far too long. Greater emphasis on situational awareness, time management, and halftime adaptation is urgently needed.
Second, injuries and depth issues have once again exposed the fragility of our roster. The offensive line remains unreliable, both in protecting the quarterback and establishing a consistent run game. Injuries to key defensive starters have further highlighted the lack of quality depth, especially in the secondary. Investing more in durable, versatile linemen and rotational defensive players should be a top offseason priority. Improved strength and conditioning programs, as well as smarter snap counts for veteran players, could also reduce the injury toll.
Third, there is a growing disconnect between talent and leadership. The team has elite playmakers, but their potential isn’t being maximized. Discipline has slipped—penalties, dropped passes, and mental lapses have cost us multiple winnable games. A stronger internal culture of accountability and player leadership could help restore focus and pride. Veteran voices in the locker room must be empowered to set the tone.
Lastly, the organization’s identity seems uncertain. Are the Dolphins a high-flying offensive powerhouse or a balanced, complementary football team? The inconsistency from week to week suggests we’re still searching for that answer. Establishing a clear, unified identity—built on physicality, preparation, and mental toughness—will be essential if we’re to take the next step toward championship contention.
I understand the challenges of building and maintaining a winning NFL franchise. Still, I firmly believe the Dolphins have the talent, resources, and fan support to succeed. A renewed focus on roster depth, discipline, and adaptability could be the key to turning this season’s disappointment into a foundation for long-term success.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I write not out of criticism, but out of deep respect and enduring hope for a team that has meant so much to me and countless others. We all want to see the Miami Dolphins return to greatness—and I believe, with the right adjustments, that goal is still within reach.
With sincere respect and optimism,
The Miami Ute
Lefty5150 wants Ross to start seeing what he already has.
Mr. Ross,
You once had a coach hold a lockroom together after a disastrous start. He went 8-1 over his last 9 games. He tried to keep YOU of all people from costing your team a first round pick. He tried to warn you about Tua. How did you reward him for these incredible feats? You fired him. It was the worst mistake in the history of the franchise. Your coach did not have a Tyreek Hill on the roster during his tenure. He was a tough disciplinarian who the media did not like. Turns out his critique of your QB1 was right. Actually, he was right about a lot of things.
The Dolphins now suck so bad that Ohio State would be a two touchdown favorite in Miami. The reason they suck is in every mirror you care to gaze into. Well done Mr. Ross, you know nothing.
sdphinsfan takes a logical route, recognizing that Ross is clearly great at many things in business but also pointing out that he would be better served by someone with a better and more recognized football background to run things from the top down.
Mr. Ross,
I’m not going to call for you step down. In many ways, you’ve run the team very successfully from a financial perspective and that has a value to all Dolphins fans. Unfortunately, that hasn’t reflected in the most important thing to fans, the product on the field. A very wise man told me something when I was a kid that stuck with me. I taught it to my children and teach it to my grandchildren. No matter who you are, what you’ve done, no matter how much success you’ve had, always remember that you don’t know what you don’t know.
Your business acumen is obvious and undeniable. But your ability to build a winning organization on the football field has been abysmal. I would encourage you to tap into a resource that is right at your finger tips and to use it. When you bought the team, you took over one of the winningest franchises of all time. Many of those who did that winning are still here and still care about this team. Tap into that. Form a players council. 5 former players who played and won in our uniform. Don’t make a celebratory board…make it a true advisory board with 5 paid positions. Before any FA is signed or any young player is drafted, have them spend 30 minutes to an hour with the board. Same goes for any GM, or coaching candidate. And then incorporate the board’s opinion into the player evaluation. Weigh it as much as you do scouting reports and Combine and Pro Day results. You see, these men had a hand in building the standard that the Miami Dolphins stood for. They should have a role in building and maintaining the standard today. Engage them. Empower them. Listen to them. Value their input.
You do this in your real estate business. There’s no way you could have built what you’ve built without doing this to some degree. You’ve got a great resource. Use it to help learn what you don’t know. Use it to help set the standard for the organization, which is your #1 responsibility as an owner. Give us our Dolphins back please….
Jptapt has a simple request.
Dear Mr. Ross,
Please sell the Miami Dolphins.
Regards,
Pretty much everyone who knows the team colors
MEFG8R56 wants Ross to sell and take the money, which would be a huge profit for him at this point.
Dear Mr. Ross,
Please Sell the team. If you care about the fans – Sell the Team! Cash out – make even more big bucks – but please sell the team. If you still take Tannenbaum’s advice or if you speak to him even – SELL the TEAM. Fire the GM and head Coach today – OR SELL THE TEAM. FYI Miami Dolphins are paying more for DB’s not on the roster than for all the ones on the roster. If you cannot see that as a need to fire most everyone involved, then you definitely need to SELL THE TEAM. This team is as far from Championship Caliber as I have seen in 50 years – Sell the Team PLEASE. Who got fired for tampering with Tom Brady? Why would you even entertain the idea of bringing in Brady? Oh that’s right he went to michigan – Sell the TEAM…. Who is the best coach you had ??? oh yeah he is coaching the Detroit Lions, because you wouldn’t hire him permanently… Injury prone college players are almost always injury prone pro players — WHY oh WHY do you keep drafting injury prone college players.
In Summary SELL THE TEAM!!
Rick13 wants Ross to use some of his incredible fortune to hire whoever he needs to get us out of this circle jerk of insanity.
Dear Mr Stephen Ross
You chose Tua taguaviola over Justin Herbert either sell the team or hire somebody competent to actually run the team like a John Lynch or Howie Roseman and let them build the team and run it and you just sign their checks. I’m a 35 year Dolphins fan only and really want to see this team be a REAL competitor in the NFL like the teams with the GMS I just mentioned above and then they will find the right head coach for the team until this happens we will always be a middle to below average Team every year please take this seriously if not nothing will change like every year since you’ve owned the team.
Thx Rick Weldon
USMCFinzFreak took the respectful but frank approach.
Dear Mr. Ross,
Bottom line up front: The Dolphins are not the storied franchise they once were. Please do whatever it takes to get someone to take restore it back to greatness.
I became a fan in 1970 when I was 10 years old. The ‘72 team sealed the deal for me as a lifelong fan as I was young and impressionable Winning wins the hearts and minds of youngsters and most, if not all, will become lifelong fans. You have an amazing opportunity to be remembered long after you’re gone, by resetting this team and reestablishing the winning spirit it had. I guarantee you will cultivate a whole new generation of fans.
Whatever it takes, Mr. Ross, please do it.
Respectfully,
Sergeant Major Dolfan
TuaLuve is a young person, which means they have only received buckets of sorrow from this team for the entirety of their existence, or at least since they became aware of the Dolphins.
You do not know who I am and I have never met you during my life, but we share a common goal: both of us want to see this organization win a superbowl. Currently, I am 28 years old and have been a dolphins fan for my entire life, which means that I was never able to see Marino play nor did I see my team go undefeated. Because I have only watched the Dolphins during this century, I have seen my team be either one of the worst teams in the NFL or be mediocre. I know that your intentions was never to field a team that would go 1-15 or 8-8 on any given season, but the reality is that my team has been stuck in purgatory since Marino has retired. Because the Dolphins have fielded so many poor teams throughout my lifetime, I am able to sense a poor team and poor leadership when I see it. Having the Dolphins being led by a coach who is not respected by his players and being led by a GM who does not prioritize the line/overspends on free agents past their prime will never win us a championship. McDaniel is clearly a nice guy, but nice guys do not make good head coaches in the NFL because they lack the disciplinarian mentality which is needed. Grier has a great sense of loyalty and pride for this organization, but GM’s who overspend on free agents and do not replace players through the draft always lead to terrible teams with no identity. Firing people is never easy, it’s actually an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking endeavor that is unfortunately part of life. Yet, when it is done correctly, it can lead to incredible results. If you clean house and start with a new Coach and GM, this team can WIN the Super Bowl in two years. The roster as it currently stands is far from perfect, but the significant amount of young talent can be a significant building block for a new regime to implement the right culture to put us back on the path of winning. Even though you have never met me and will likely never met me in my lifetime, I beg of you, clean house and start over. If you do, it could turn out to be the best decision of your life.
StanleyDoyle1 is pleading with Ross to take his profits and retire gracefully…
Mr. Ross,
As a lifelong Dolphins fan, I want to thank you for your effort. You have treated the players well. Your facilities are outstanding. The gameday experience is pricey but top shelf. I’ve never met you, but you seem like a decent human being.
This being said, I beg you, please sell the team. As a business, the Dolphins are a profitable investment. You are no doubt making a lot of money, given the guaranteed income and TV and merchandising revenues. But as a franchise, you have failed South Florida. You and your predecessor have rotted the team’s legacy. This is probably because your metrics of success (personal profit, gentile management, loyalty) are not ours – a franchise that is synonymous with winning – or what we had before Shula left. This is your fault not because it is your doing, but it is your fault because your other business success has not translated to hiring individuals who know how to build a successful football organization. And because you are apparently incapable of discerning when your subordinates are BSing you, as Chris Grier has done every year for five years in convincing you that he has a viable plan to resolve the mediocrity plaguing the team. You have institutionalized mediocrity, and you don’t seem to care. The fans – or what’s left of the fans after two decades, still care for now. We care enough to ask you to let go, call it a day, and divest yourself (and your family members) from any stake in the team.
Mickrac10 might bail if Ross does not do something big and soon.
Steve Ross, I’ve been a fan since my father took me to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when I was about 5 years old and he said I could pick out a souvenir. I chose a Miami Dolphins pennant. I still have it actually. That was over 50 years ago Steve. But, Ive been on the ropes with this team since Joe Philbin. This last 4 years with Grier and McDaniel bungling the roster and coaching has me one foot off the edge. If you can look at this roster and see all the failed draft picks and retread signees and guys signed with injury histories and the record gets worse every year now, it’s a fail. You don’t keep people in their jobs because you like them, Steve. How you’ve made billions with that type of philosophy in business is a head scratcher. Grier and McDaniel aren’t your sons Steve. Let them go. They’ve made plenty of money off you. They’ll survive. We the fans wont and I’m out of the Dolphins club after 55 years of being a fan if they both aren’t replaced with competent NFL evaluators and coaches.
SuperG! says you let the wrong dudes go, bro, and created a new hashtag. Strong work!
Hey Ross. Just think, the last 2 DCs to destroy Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl were former DCs here in Miami. Yeah….. think about it. You had the right guys here and you fired both of them.
#BlameRoss
Reachout2011 is more interested in Ross spending money on making things right in South Florida versus trying to get his name on another building at his alma mater.
Dear Mr. Ross
Like most of the letters and general mood of south Florida Miami Dolphin Fans, who btw make you and your legacy possible. Please step away! You’re continued stubbornness to keep Grier is no longer acceptable. It’s nonsense but we’re starting to wonder does he have the goods on you? Your billionaire loyalty is about letting ppl close, see the secrets and then unable to fire them?
You really might consider taking a play from Terry Pegula and his legacy and class.
If you think seeking advice from the Rex Ryan and Tannerhill’s nothing has changed! You have unfortunately have been blinded by a culture that believes buy cheap and sell high! But sir you don’t have that talent or any of the cheap hires to be a Bill Gates or even a Mr Kraft level of football talent, that experiment has proved you are way off!
So going forward how about pulling out some of that money you like to spread in Michigan and spend some real legacy fortune to build a truly noteworthy franchise your family name can be proud or better yet sell it! Let someone or another family come in and make the hard unselfish decisions you can’t or won’t! The fans goodwill is running thin, we are not an endless supply, people can surprise you.
Redwood_ just took it to Ross.
Dear Stephen Ross,
I don’t know how you made your fortune. But based on how you have run the Miami Dolphins, I think a moderately intelligent orangutan could have done just as well. You have no football knowledge whatsoever. You have no ability to hire the right people to make football decisions. You have a certain amount of loyalty, but while that is usually a virtue, you have turned it into a pathological fault, because it prevents you from seeing things the way they are. Beginning with your assuming ownership in January 2009, the Dolphins have endured by far the worst era in their history. They have not won the AFC East since 2008. They have not won a playoff game since 2000. Your head coach hires have been a series of miserable failures. The one time you got it right was with Brian Flores, and you ran him out of town because he spoke the truth to your power. You cost the Dolphins multiple draft picks with your blatant and inept tampering. You presided over one of the most blatant tanking attempts in NFL history in 2019, which resulted in only a pair of wild card playoff berths and first-round playoff losses. You have had the same GM since 2016 despite his series of failed draft picks, entire failed drafts, and inept personnel and contractual decisions. That GM presided over the Dolphins failed rebuilding attempt, and now the Dolphins stand on the precipice of needing a second complete rebuild in only five years. The only constants in this unprecedented series of failures have been you and your hirings. The Dolphins will be doomed to failure for as long as you retain ownership interest in the franchise. There are only two possible ways you can save the Dolphins: either (1) sell the franchise, or (2) hire a brilliant football mind as president of football operations, give him free rein to do what he wants, and get out of his way. At this point, after so many years of your failures, either of those options would be acceptable. I suggest you get moving.
Captain Dolphin reached out as a longtime fan who has inspired his own children to become lifetime fans. Please help this family, Mr Ross!
Dear Mr. Ross,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you not only as a long-time fan of the Miami Dolphins but also as a father whose children have grown up cheering for this team with unwavering loyalty. For over three decades, I have supported the Dolphins through highs and lows, and while our passion remains strong, our optimism has been tested year after year.
Unfortunately, the current state of the team has become increasingly difficult to accept. The leadership under Mr. Chris Grier, Coach Mike McDaniel, and Defensive Coordinator Anthony Weaver has not yielded the results we had hoped for. The team has consistently underperformed, and the coaching has left much to be desired. Our defense, in particular, has been disappointing and unable to compete effectively against even subpar opponents.
The roster construction has also raised concerns. Many of our first and second-day draft picks have failed to make a meaningful impact, and it’s become evident that our scouting department is not operating at the level required to build a strong foundation of young talent. This lack of development has made it difficult to envision a future where the Dolphins are perennial contenders.
As a fan, I understand that rebuilding and restructuring takes time, but I believe it is time for a change in leadership. When considering new candidates for General Manager and Head Coach, I respectfully urge you to seek individuals with proven track records of success—leaders who understand how to build from the trenches and foster a winning culture. This team deserves a vision rooted in experience, strategy, and accountability—not another project or experiment.
Despite the frustrations, my family and I will continue to support the Dolphins. We watch every game, cheer every touchdown, and hold onto hope. But we also dream of a day when our team consistently competes in the playoffs and earns respect across the league.
Thank you for your time and for your continued commitment to the Miami Dolphins. I trust that you will make the decisions necessary to guide this franchise toward a brighter future.
Sincerely,
Captain Dolphin
MiamiItaliano believes it’s time for Ross to pass the torch. I bet Cowboys fans are making the same plea.
Dear Stephen,
Step down as executive chairman as the Miami Dolphins. Give control to one of your kids, or all of them, whatever. You have gone senile and can no longer make rational decisions. The fans can hope that whoever is put in charge will fire Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel, since you can’t do it for whatever reason. This franchise needs to start over from square one due to your continuous mistakes since taking over as majority owner in 2009. Bye.
AussieFin1, a foreign Phins fan, has a question and suggestions.
Dear Mr Ross
I live in Australia and have been a fan for 40 years since seeing a young guy named Marino play. Ever since then I always had hope that we would be competitive and win.
There are a few parts to this team that are worth keeping and some parts are very good. And I am not going to tell you how to make money because you are very good at doing this. But ask yourself the question “How much money can make you happy?”
I would argue that you will be happier watching a winning and well respected team than having an extra couple of Billion or so.
If you are just like the fan base and want the best for this team, then you are going to have to change the way the Dolphins are run. Because the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.
You have been extremely patient and loyal with Chris Grier and he has probably made you a lot of money. But his ability and actions prove he is not good enough to run a successful team. It is easier for Fans to tell you what to do without the emotional attachment to a person. But, if you want a successful sporting franchise, he has to be replaced by someone better. The new GM can work out what to do with the coach(who IMO needs to be replaced as well).
Last week’s game highlighted the problem with this team – there are parts that work, there are parts that are bad, and poor decisions by coaches make it even worse.
Hope there is change coming
Have a good day
JGFINS42 wants to know who the scouts are.
Mr. Ross, seems you won’t do what should be done. Not now, but within the past 20-year span. So, please pass this question along to “your” GM… Dear Mr. Grier, who are your college scouts?
LSC20olney needs to see some tough love from the owner, and sooner rather than later.
Dear Mr. Ross,
This team needs a shot of tough love. We have witnessed enough pandering. I would start by shutting down the spa and gourmet facilities and make it a hard core football facility. While I don’t wish bad things to people regarding their livelihood you do have a business to run. It is past time to change the organization from the front office, starting with the failed GM, followed by the coaching staff, which has proven to be incompetent and uncoordinated in every phase of the game. Last, but far from least we need to separate from many, many players. We have a small core that we should build around. Bite the bullet and dump as many salaries as possible. Start the rebuild immediately.
We need young, strong and athletic players who are hungry and not prone to injuries. With good coaching they can be developed into contenders in a few short years.
Regards and best of health,
A 70 year old Dolphins fan who loves the team, but doesn’t have unlimited time to wait!
Alpha6 is ready to begin the second Shula run in Miami.
Ross Ross Ross, you ignorant nut-ball.
You have hard decisions coming up.
Decisions that have organizational ramifications.
I wish you luck… and the Lord bless you in making those decisions.
I ask that you at least interview the Packers and Rams Defensive Coordinators: Jeff Hafley and Chris Shula respectively, for Head Coach.
Respectfully,
Alpha6
twinssdfan dug that uni all those years ago, so if Ross could do him a favor!
Dear Mr. Ross.
It was 1973 I was 10 years old I live in South Dakota. Alot of Viking Fans here and I was at a Super Bowl party I was attending everyone was hooting and hollering about the Vikings. Well Bob Griese was being interviewed and I liked his uniform and the Dolphin on the helmut just like that a Fan was Born. The Dolphins Won!!!
Been a Die Hard Fan since then I’ve seen many ups and downs this orginization has a deep culture of winning.
Under Don Shula he was on top of his game Coaching along with his ability to get every ounce from players that he either drafted or traded for or maybe a UDFA was an option as well. Shula’s coaching staff was on top of their game as well being prepared.
Since Coach Shula is no longer with us and Owner Wayne tried to bring some Super Bowls with Jimmy J. well nothing has happened.
A lot has happened since.
So on with a large number of hires and differnet ideas nothing is working.
I’m not here to rant Sir, just a Die Hard Dolphin that wants the Good Old Glory Days of the Past back.
I give you credit for trying Mr. Ross You and All of us at this Fan Base all over the USA want another Super Bowl.
We want to Win Period.
If I could say anything make it the Dolphin Way.
I was at the one game in Flordia like to make to more but when they play the Vikings i have attened two games there.
I’m 62 years old always will be a Dolphin Fan.
You will make the right decision.
Fins Up!!
Mr. Ross
Thank You For Ypur Time

Dear Mr Ross,
Please sell the team or hire a competent GM that can evaluate talent and bring in a culture changing coach and both cordinators. Too many fans have gone thru 25 years of agony. We cannot win in the cold weather because we are a soft non physical team. Lets get serious and rip the band aid off and re-boot the whole organization. The Discipline has slipped—penalties, dropped passes, and mental lapses have cost us multiple winnable games. A stronger internal culture of accountability and player leadership could help restore focus and pride. Tua is a good backup and mentor, lets face it we paid him so we are stuck with that silly contract. Sign a couple good QBs to compete and keep these players only:
Achane; Ollie Gordon; Washington both of them; both inside linebackers; Waller
Clean house and re-boot.
Thanks,
JT Trink
JGFINS42 says, let’s go make a splash already!
Mr. Ross,
You’ve heard from so many, you must’ve heard it all. Knowing what to do is one thing, but why wait ‘til after fall? This is your team. I get it… We all get it. But this is our team, too. Enough is enough, now we’re waiting on you! We’re all tired of those “Buffalo’s” stomping on our hopes and tired of hearing the other fans boast! It doesn’t matter now that I witnessed perfection — as well as the great season of ‘73. Today is a new day and I just have to say; “Miami has the Dolphins” and I don’t like what we see! So thanks for all the good you’ve done and for hearing me out. Yup, you must’ve of heard it all by now, heard every appeal. It’s time to make a splash, Stephen… Enough of this ordeal.
tvegas897 just wants the embassment to end already!
Dear Mr. Ross.
I have no words. Stop embarrassing this once proud organization. Your fans are hurting because of your ineptitude
Bill Moody lets Ross know of our collective frustration over all of it…
Dear Mr. Ross. Fans aren’t frustrated with just this season. We’re frustrated with over 25 years of losing. We are frustrated with a GM (GRIER) that has flat out refused to build an NFL Caliber Offensive Line despite many of us clamoring, screaming, and even crying for that to be fixed for well over a decade. Grier does not know how to build a winning NFL football team. PERIOD. The results speak for themselves. If I can only ask you for one thing, then I ask this. Please, please, please, when you eventually hire a new General Manager (soon!) to start the next iteration of this team, I beg you, find a General Manager that makes the Offensive Line the cornerstone of the team. We don’t need the next flashy receiver or next fancy QB… just please, for the love of God, get us an Offensive Line that can pass protect and run block. Thank you.
Stately Wayne Manor is tired of our team being used as a “doormat” by the rest of the NFL.
Dear Mr. Ross,
How can you say you want to win more than anyone else when you keep a GM far too long and hire a head coach who no other NFL team interviewed other than the Dolphins? We have not won a playoff game for 25 years! Don’t you understand that your team is just a doormat? A team that has become irrelevant in the NFL. If you truly wanted to build a winning team then you’d consult with someone who is actually a highly respected NFL man around the league. No, I am not talking about the Tannenbaums or some talking head who thinks they know everything. Also, you are so out of touch with your own fan base, it’s sad. Do you even realize that the fans, current players, former players and even Dan Marino want the throwbacks to be our permanent uniform and logo?! You want to gain major respect from Dolphin fans? Then change our uniforms and logo back to the original throwbacks. If you continue to be tone deaf, then it’s time you sell the team to an owner who truly gets it.
B40rr is rightfully concerned that Ross won’t listen to any of us.
Dear Stephen,
You see some very heartfelt messages below from caring and passionate fans. Regrettably they won’t likely register with you. It’s not about the money- you’re fine. It’s not about power, you’re the boss. Winning? That would be nice but nah. Ego? Maybe.
But I’m guessing at your stage and status in life it’s about your legacy. You know, how you will always be remembered. I’m sure you’ll be remembered fondly for many of your life’s achievements. Congratulations.
Regrettably this franchise will not be one of those. To many outside of your social sphere who are Dolphin fans- this is how you’ll be remembered. Incompetent. Bumbling. Indecisive. Weak. Unsuccessful. I’m guessing those aren’t the descriptions you covet.
But you still have time to act. Heed what the fine people below are sharing. Ask for help from people who are smarter than you – that’s a sign of strength not weakness.
Start now please. Time waits for no one and this fan base and franchise has been waiting quite a while.
Thank you for your consideration.
YDolphinsY wants Ross to know that he’s killing children. CHILDREN! Do you hear that, Mr Ross?
Stephen, you are killing me and my 8 and 4 year old kids. I could have accepted the Steelers and Patriots merch that were given to them by my family members here in the northeast but I stuck it all deep in a closet after taking pictures of them wearing it once out of respect for the gift givers. They could be fans of respectable football teams but instead I have to explain that I am handing down the curse that their great grandfather handed down to me. You have achieved so much in business but your success in the business of the NFL isn’t remembered for profits, it’s remembered for wins. You are considered a major loser for now and you will be forever remembered that way if you don’t change this soon. Disrespectfully, you are as old as dirt sir, you don’t have much time.
Spok507 just wants Ross to give him back his damn pride in this team.
Dear Mr. Ross,
I am a life-long fan of the Dolphins and do appreciate everything you have done in your tenure as the owner to make them one of the greatest teams in sports. I hope you continue to work toward progress. As a fan, I would love to regain the feeling I had when I initially chose this franchise as ‘my team’. Back then, I was proud to wear my Dolphins’ attire, proud to show my allegiance to a team that was held in high regard by the rest of the league. Alas, that hasn’t been the case recently. I’m still here, hoping for a change, but know only you can initiate that change. You’re a revered businessman, who surrounds himself with the best people you can find, tho I do think you could do better when it comes to your investment in the Dolphins. While a great mind in financial matters, Chris Grier does not seem to possess the intuition needed to draft and bring in players to compliment the needs of the team. Whether it is because he’s listening to coaches, scouts or other elements too much or not enough, I can’t say, but as the GM, the ultimate blame or glory falls on him. Change is the most difficult thing to address, but change is constant, and in order to build something better, change is also necessary. It is necessary now. Please consider changing the direction of this storied franchise. It is time. Fins up.
Sincerely, A Fan.
Nativebam agrees with me. Start by hiring the correct GM, and everything else will fall into place.
Mr. Ross,
Just stop. Have followed since Miami’s inception in 1966. Fire the GM. Hire a real GM who will hire the head coach who hires his staff. And just because someone has a NY connection doesn’t mean that is the answer. You’ve done that and the results are abysmal. Listening to Mike Tannenbaum about anything is wrong. His track record is a failure. Hiring Rex Ryan isn’t the answer. Find people who will build the team the right way, from the line of scrimmage out. Please make this team relevant. Do your bloody homework.
For once.
Well, that was exhausting, and I hope that I got all of our letters/notes/whatever posted. Thank you to each of you who took the time and effort to send a letter to Stephen Ross. I’m not positive he will read a single one, but there is someone with a direct connection to him who will see this. I figure you can’t know if something has any effect unless you try. Major props to anyone who writes an open letter, sends a physical one, or donates towards banners flown above the stadium.
