It is so early in the season that every team’s playoff chances are at risk, so when I saw an article expressing the “why” for how the Los Angeles Rams could miss the playoffs I had to click the link. If you read the article, then you’ll see that the Rams can still very much make the playoffs, but if you just read the headline, you may come away with a different perspective (I for sure write that way at times too whether by design or otherwise).
The big takeaway that I can tell (you can see the link below) is that the Rams are down a game against the San Francisco 49ers and that could cost them, and in Week 6 with the knowledge we have right now, it matters, but with another game to play against the 49ers and with so many games to go, the loss may not matter at all in the long run.
That’s why we have to keep watching (unless you don’t want to, but I plan to be here all year), we don’t know what will happen.
“Brandon Astreicher is a sports writer for Pro Football Sports Network, and he released an article looking at the grander playoff picture. If the season ended today, the Rams wouldn’t have even made the postseason, and Astreicher identified them as a team that’s on the decline.
“A loss to the 49ers on Thursday sends the Rams out of the top five of PFSN’s power rankings. But they’re still rated pretty highly, considering the difficulty of their schedule and how well they’ve performed against top-level competition”, said Astreicher.“
Am I disappointed in the two losses that the Rams have had? Yes. Do I think this team will miss the playoffs? No, I think they very much SHOULD make the post season, or it will somewhat be a wasted season if they don’t. They have too much talent at the right spots (if healthy) to not push past the regular season.

’Motivation is high’ for Ravens to snap losing streak vs. Rams (sportingnews.com)
“They just have to do it.
“They’re completely motivated to get the win this week, but the main thing you got to focus on is how to do it,” Harbaugh said. “You got to go play a certain way and getting prepared to do that and to play the way we can, play given whatever circumstances we have. Let’s go find a way to win the game. You got to go play the game, compete and win one play at a time, and that’s what we’ll be trying to do. I know we can do it.
”We just got to get out there and do it, but the motivation level is high.”
Why Rams May Be Eyeing Contract Extension for Star Defender (si.com)
“He’s so versatile,” stated McVay. “He’s so tough. The majority of his snaps are coming from the nickel slot position. You get a lot of play opportunities. You’re around the football based on how the landscape of the league unfolds. There’s a lot of inside-out passing. There’s a lot of the perimeter control and some of the RPOs and the screen game.”
