NFL Week 6 latest buzz, questions, news and fantasy tips | ESPN.com
The Giants face a challenging week. They are short-handed offensively and face a talented Eagles defense that will try to force Jaxson Dart into mistakes. But what New York likes about Dart through the first two games is his confidence and his instincts. He communicates well at the line of scrimmage and doesn’t get rattled. The Giants are hoping that pays off on a short week, but they know they have to run the ball well on early downs. Third-and-long for the rookie against Vic Fangio probably won’t end well. And then, when the Eagles make adjustments, the Giants must decipher what they are doing and make their own adjustments.

This is no ordinary Giants bounce-back test for Jaxson Dart | New York Post
Here’s all you have to know about how Jaxson Dart has gotten off the deck— and just in time for the Eagles— in the wake of his first loss.
Round 3, No. 65: DT Darius Alexander. Alexander played 40.9 percent of the Giants defensive snaps on Sunday in New Orleans, which is the most participation he’s had early in his career. The reason for the uptick in play time? He’s looked a little better with each passing week. On Sunday, Alexander took over for Dexter Lawrence, who spent the week leading into the game dealing with an injury, in third-down packages. On one snap, he collapsed the pocket, forcing Saints QB Spencer Rattler to throw an interception. While that play was negated by a Deonte Banks penalty, Alexander made his presence felt. The Giants are going to need more of that going forward.
Q: On the younger side, Darius Alexander has seen his snaps increase on the defensive line since he was inactive for the opener. What have you seen from him?
Daboll: “He’s making progress. I’ve seen him getting better and better each week the more he plays. For young players, you see it once, maybe it gets you. Then the next time you see it, you’ve got a better understanding of it. I think he’s playing faster, stronger. He’s got good length. He’s continuing to improve. I’d say all of those four young players that have played quite bit – D.A. and Abdul [Carter] and Jaxson [Dart] and Cam [Skattebo] – there are going to be growing things that come up, but man, I like all those guys.”
Stage is set for Abdul Carter and first Giant breakthrough performance of his NFL career | The Record
Michael Strahan was inactive for the first five games of his New York Giants career, one that ended with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
In his first five games, Abdul Carter only has half of a sack. All those trapped inside the statistical box want much more, and that’s completely understandable. The Giants’ No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft feels similarly.

Giants WR Beaux Collins says mistake that led to Jaxson Dart interception ‘won’t happen again’ | New York Daily News
Collins said he felt terrible about letting Dart and the team down, particularly because that was the fifth of five straight turnovers by the Giants’ offense to do them in.
“It’s a horrible feeling, especially with how the game was going at the time,” Collins said. “I didn’t do anything to help or make it better. So coming off the field like that, I just [said], ‘My bad, man.’ That’s all you really can say. You can’t really give excuses in the heat of the moment. Just gotta chalk it up to the game.”
Every NFL Team’s Biggest Breakout Player After 5 Weeks | Bleacher Report
New York Giants: TE Theo Johnson. The sophomore fourth-round pick has tripled his career touchdown total with three in the last two weeks, easing the burden associated with a career-ending injury to Malik Nabers in the Giants’ pass-catching corps. Jaxson Dart is vibing with Johnson.
3. Brian Daboll, New York Giants (Previous ranking: third). His job status is a fascinating case study in what’s most important to this floundering franchise — wins or the development of a franchise quarterback. The Giants are 1-4 and Daboll’s overall record is a miserable 19-36-1. Based on that record and his team’s play, there’s no real justification to keep him much longer.
But the organization is invested heavily in rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, the QB Daboll pushed for in the draft and the one he inserted over veteran Russell Wilson starting in Week 4. His lone chance to keep his job is for Dart to show steady progress and look like a star quarterback in the making by the end of the season. Then maybe Daboll has a case to stay. Of course, losing to the previously winless Saints last week certainly didn’t help him.

Eagles’ Nick Sirianni on Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown meeting: ‘Love that’ | The Athletic
“That’s just not a coaching thing,” Sirianni added. “That’s just not leaders on the football team. That’s this team. That’s the mindset of this team: How do we keep getting better and play our best football by the end of the year? You love that. You love that for all the guys. This isn’t all that different than last year, going through these things as well. You buckle down. You find solutions. You find answers to the problems and you work yourself to get better from that. That’s what it’s about. That’s how you grow. That’s a mental toughness thing. Obviously, we’re all going through that in trying to get better.”

Philadelphia Eagles: DL Moro Ojomo. This is basically a tie between two 2023 draft picks for the Eagles, as both Ojomo and guard Tyler Steen have come out of nowhere-ish to play huge roles this season. Ojomo had zero sacks in his career before recording two in the last four weeks, and he has the 11th-best qualified PFF grade at his position.
